The first one was great and challenging. I wasnt even aware that a sequel was in the works. And am now totally mind blown that it's already out.

I loved the first game. This looks like it's trying to distance itself from Metroid but it looks pretty darn cool. Excited to play this.

yeah was just gonna comment about that .... as much as I loved the first game, I'm glad the visual style is evolving into something that isn't heavily reminiscent of Metroid and is now building its own identity

@@TotallyRadical yeah nothing against Metroid, Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games of all time and Super isn't far behind either, but its good that Axiom Verge is growing into more of its own thing

Nah, the first game had a lot of black, but mixed with a variety of colors. Each area had 2 or 3 main colors

The original game was really colourful and high contrast, so when the only images of the sequel showed the snowy wasteland I was a bit saddened by the lack of weird glitchy effects and funky landscapes. But the trailer showing more areas has won me back over in regards to the aesthetics.

The first game was good, but this looks like a step above in every way. Looking forward to playing this.

I bought this game finally earlier this year ... probably one of the best games I've played in a long time, this one looks just as good

Finished it and loved it. I think I prefer the first one because I'm not a fan of the combat system in the new entry, but this game is really interesting and leveldesign wise is mindblowing, it's just so good. Clearly Thomas Happ knows his stuff.

I'll buy it later. Still need to take some time out to finish the first one. Thing is this one looks like a hack n slash where as the first ons was a shoot em up.

Once I heard a sequel was coming out...I immediately bought it...Axiom Verge is a great game...can't wait to play it...the first game was great and hope this is better

Axiom Verge finally went 16-bit

I'll wait for the retail version so I can put it next to my collectors edition of the first one.

Oh heck yeah, the first game is one of my favorite MetroidVanias of all time, this is gonna be great!

It certainly looks far less Metroid than the first game (which is a welcome change IMO). Looking forward to seeing more of this

totally loving this. the levels and artwork are superbly made and are so atmospheric and takes you to places. the music is beautiful and mystic and one of the best I've listened to. gameplay is wonderful and well made. Thomas Happ is a one man amazing developer

Tbh I'd argue axiom verge 1 would be the best metroid game if it were one.
