Axial SCX24 First Crawl with all the Upgrades

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Finally finished up everything on the Axial SCX24 and had some time to get it out on a rock. It does really good but now I need to shift some weight around and get it dialed in.

    Great video man! The scx24s kick ass for they’re size! 👍👍 Looks like it just needs a tad bit more weight up front or a bit less in the rear. I wouldn’t run no foams seems to make it bounce to much. But star cutting the foams should help without as much bounce and tire roll. 🤔

  • @DustinWoloschuk
    @DustinWoloschuk3 жыл бұрын

    you definitely need to take the foam out of those tires. they are not flexing at all, and is the cause of the bouncing. you need flex in the back at the very least. A cool thing to try is to just take the foam out of the back and let the back flex... but keep the foam in the front which will help grab and crawl however... I like flex in both my front and back tires. the purpose of bead lock tires when we crawl in real life, is so we can air down our tires as much as possible, without breaking the beads of the rims. ive learned with my c-10 it works the same way in 24th scale. lots of weight like you have, and nice soft tires, equals a nice wide footprint, that conforms to every rock and pulls itself right over everything. try it before you remove and weight and you'll see... that truck will be unstoppable.

  • @BuyitBreakitFixit

    @BuyitBreakitFixit

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. Yep, I understand the whole tire concept with beadlocks and air down. I built this to the hilt, now it is time to see what isn't right, tires being the first, and possibly some weight. I will for sure try the tires without foams before anything else, I agree with you, probably all it really needs.

    Nice video. My 2 cents. It looks like you need to ditch some weight in the back. The front bias would help get some front traction. It doesnt really seem like it is "crawling" its way up, but more that the front is pushed up, and then it seems like everytime the back tires hit the smallest of ledges that it just doesn't want to pull the extra weight to get the rear over the ledge.

    I agree, somewhat. I think some weight needs to be off and some needs to be moved. But, yeah it needs to be dialed in now. Thanks for the honest comment. And this rock is super steep for this little thing in some spots. So hard to pick up the real angle on camera.
