Good job on pointing out the scale aspects of this type of crawler (portals/ams/dig). I remember many years ago (before there were youtube videos of everything ever) people arguing on the RcCrawler forurms, that a "scale" build couldn't have things like 4wheel steering or front dig! Back then, it seemed like a lot of the people who were hardcore into RC and scale builds didn't know anything about 1:1 'wheelin.

Matt..... You are the WINNER in the Capra stress testing challenge!!! 😳😯😉 I of course, am so excited to get one, and know with 100% certainty that I WON'T be able to afford one. 😖😭 I'm used to it, but seeing so many people I know getting one..... you know. That was bar none, the BEST Review and Overview of this stunning new Rig!! Period. The XR length Axles brings up something for future brainstorming.... WHY NOT put them under a Wraith or Bomber!!! Axle reduction, 3.75:1 gearing and PORTALS would really be a very cool upgrade!! 😎👊 I know you mentioned the high gearing.... which for a pure Crawler isn't ideal. Two thoughts...... This could be a great opportunity for the Aftermarket to produce *Underdrive Gears* for the AR44 Diff. That could benefit more than just the Capra. 😉 And, that higher Gearing could be advantageous to People who live, maybe in a Desert 🏜..... Like, Me! Lots of wide open flat Desert, tall Dunes and Mountainous Rocks, all within 120mi of Central Arizona!!! ...... Could start a new Chapter of U4RC Competition!!! 👍👍 Or just be fun to blast in wide open spaces. Carmine ✈🚂🚙

I love the XR10 and have 2 that are both in pieces. I just never have time to build them up. One is a new kit I bought online that I’ve started the build but get frustrated or just never have that much extra time and would rather use the time I do have actually driving instead. I need to find either a builder or a trade for an RTR axial rock crawler or even one of these. I am mobility challenged and tend to use most of my RCs in the house. Maybe I should make a foam course using wall insulation foam sheets.

Good thing the portal boxes are built into the axles or we might be seeing another portal delete.... 😂😁
Your decision to discuss the technical points of the kit in voice-over, while showing the rig performing is a lesson for everyone making this kind of video.

Cool video, thank you. Always enjoy the "not quite right" naming of parts in the rc world "roll o meter" aka inclinometer. I remember seeing these in many toyotas

Hahaha, totally right?!
At first I thought it was a joke but damn that was way down there👏🏻👏🏻👍👍

Hi Matt thank you for answering my question 👍🏻
I found this to be a great unbiased review. Not certain this is a kit I would be interested in at this time. Cheers! 👍
Carmine ✈🚂🚙

i love that shreddy lyfe paint job
Me and my grandson at a comp last weekend and he flipped his truck off a 25' cliff straight down smash it up pretty good but got home and bet it back straight. He really to go again.
Man them axles would be awesome on the new axial raw builders monster truck(Grave Digger RTR) as my real 83 Chevrolet Silverado or blazer body with some 2.6 fling king tires! Think that is going to be my summer build but I like that Capra in Alabama we have mud trucks and rock bouncers but the R/C version is so much easier in my 18 wheeler! That's awesome it still preformed like it did after 50' crash!! 🤘🤘
Great review, just picked up the kit. Not real happy with the dig setup. Hoping to get a new Hobbywing Fusion 1800Kv installed and using a Savox 1210 servo for now. I thought it strange that the box has the Nitto tire logo on it with a picture of the Capra sporting Pro-line Hyrax tires then finding out there were no tires in the kit.
50 foot cliff , been there, done that with my scx10II
I got the 3 position switch to work fine using a Sanwa MT-S
Yo, Traxxas! A similar RTR open-wheel rock crawling buggy sure would be nice. Ya know; something I can run using your connectors, batteries, and chargers. I don't want/need Traxx here in the hi-desert, and three axles mean nothing more than higher costs in maintenance/parts/accessories IMHO. But I'd buy a rig like this in a NY-minute.
The one thing about this truck is the reason I am getting rid of my crawler-tuned Bomber, having to take most of the truck apart to get to the electronics.
Great video! Could you share a parts list for your wheel set up? I’m new to the hobby and a little lost with all the information on the Locked Up RC site. Thanks!

I like building more than driving sometimes :) but no tires? Which kit doesn't have tires? Or the scale /raw builders kit? Additional cost if you're not aware and not a fan about that.. Car looks cool though, specially with the portal axes..
Speaking of scale licensed tyres/tires, can anyone give me feedback regarding Nitto trail grapples in either 1.9 or 2.2? They have been around for ages, but I hardly peel through the 'treads we have currently.
I cracked up about the bullhorns. I keep holding mine up to my honcho and then chucking them back in the drawer.lol
Rattlesnake!!! Love that place to play in.

You know, if you don't tighten the screws down all the way for the front hood posts, you can rotate the body clips back under the hood and make them disappear. :) I did that by accident when I first built it and decided that I was going to leave it like that.

I’ve looked at a lot. Even the Losi mini crawler. I just can’t really afford anything right now. I’m trying to contact Axial to see if they might be able to point me in a direction to a reliable builder who might be able to help. Axial is by far my favorite RC manufacturer. If I could, I would have one of each. When I first saw the Bomber I fell in love but this Capra has taken its place. Still not the MOA XR10 but it seems nice.

I am still having a hard time understanding why a dig servo needs a servo saver? Your rig is looking good I am definitely interest and and seeing some of the customization zones you make along with some of the more scale changes. Hey Matt, when I slow down my footage in my software, even just a small percentage, it makes the audio very high pitched.
