Axel had such an amazing range back in the 80's and 90's with his voice. No one can keep that level of singing going for long, even Steve Perry eventually had to call it quits.

@@crankfastle8138 Mike is one of the worst singers in music. Im a vocal coach. The illusion of Mike Patton is this - in his various bands he can sing as a lounge crooner, or do some falsetto, or screeching, but he doesn't display full voice in the high range. So he's doing tricks, but he's not doing the hardest thing that defines a capable singer. This doesnt mean he isnt creative or a great stage performer.

Now compare ticket prices from 1988 to 2022 and this makes total sense!!! I saw GnR in the 90's for $20...today the same ticket would be $1000...that's why they do it.

I saw them in 2018 or 19 I think. It was the worst concert I've been to. Great Music but terrible sound quality. I didn't understand a word Axl sang that day and the rest of the band wasn't sounding good either. Hope they fixed that problem or it was just that one show.

I mean the amount he and the rest of GNR smoked and drank even back in the day, coupled with Axl not being in the best shape either definitely is a big contributing factor. Even back in the 90s, James Hetfield noticed how much they didn’t take of themselves, especially Axl.

People can talk all the sht they want... acting like aging won't happen to all of us. Change is okay. And the fact that he can still hit those notes in the same key is EXTREMELY impressive for anyone. 99% of other bands from the same period down tune a step and a half just to be able to sing, if they're not just lip-syncing altogether.
