AWS re:Invent 2022 - Building Serverlesspresso: Creating event-driven architectures (SVS312)
Serverlesspresso is an event-driven, serverless workload that uses Amazon EventBridge and AWS Step Functions to coordinate events across microservices and support thousands of orders per day. This session explores the design decisions made in building this application, how new features influenced the development process, and lessons learned in creating a production-ready application using this approach. Explore useful patterns and options for extensibility that helped the team design a robust, scalable solution that costs about 1 dollar a day to operate. This session includes examples you can apply to your serverless applications and teaches you how to combine EventBridge and Step Functions to solve complex architectural challenges in larger applications.

What were the total hours taken to develop?
One question, did you normalize the events for your workflow to consume? What I mean by this question is were the events having a common "event" Json which was then sent to the workflow?
What was the main reason to use IOT Core? If you needed messaging system for microservices to communicate, could you be using SNS/SQS? What was the main reason you went with IOT Core? Thank you.
