AWS ECR | Elastic Container Registry | Flask App with Docker |
⭐ This video aims to help you learn the basics of using DOCKER so that you can host your images onto AWS ECR.⭐
For better understanding, you and I are going to work on a micro project for the demo.

In this video we will talk about:
🍀 When we compare Docker with Virtual Machines, you need to understand that, Virtual machines provide you an abstract form of your hardware with each Virtual Machine having its own Guest Operating system, where you can set up your application server.
🍀 Whereas in docker you bind your application and libraries with the os distribution into an entity which in runtime is also known as a container
and you run it on the shared Linux kernel which basically runs on the WSL2 Utility VM.
🍀 Docker image in runtime on docker engine becomes docker container.
If your docker image is the template, then your container is the working platform or the service created based on the steps you provide
🍀 Docker Architecture: When you run the docker build, your objective here is to create the docker image with the docker file and the source code that you are currently working on.
You send the instruction with the image name and tag (if needed)
and docker creates the image for you.
If the image doesn't exist locally, you can pull the docker image, that you want from the docker registry ie the docker hub, or any other private or public repository.
and now the image that you want is on your docker host and once you have the desired image, in your host, then you can execute them by using docker run and create the container.
🍀 ECR is a fully managed container registry that makes it easy to store, manage, share, and deploy your container images and artifacts anywhere.
