As someone who does video game console repairs, I can assure you that you did not break the GameCube. It is very common for GameCubes (as well as N64 consoles) to get dirty/sticky buttons. It's an easy fix, and again it's really common. No need to worry brother!

Don’t always depend on check check when it comes to shoes. I once tried it just for giggles on a pair I purchased at a Nike store and sent pictures.. check said they were fake LOL Then I emailed them with the receipt and told them how I got them straight from Nike and they just said how they might’ve seen something and that’s why they called them “fake” lol

Pool Noodle Packing: along the same idea are the foam pipe wraps, like you mentioned in your Flip House crawl space video. Pipe insulation has the same hollow center and is usually already slit down the length. I pick up either when I spot them being sold cheap at yard sales, estate sales, end of season sales at Big Box stores or the Habitat Re-store.

No it was a dirty GameCube. That is a pretty common issue where the button sticks and the mechanism that keeps the lid down will get stuck in the unlock position. It's an easy fix.

I found some flower shaped pool noodles one time and have used them repeatedly by slicing a thin, thin piece of the noodle like a flat flower power petal. I put one between CD or DVD cases to help absorb some of the bouncing in transit. Also good to cut to fit around a coffee mug handle......ETC.

A lot of consoles around the gamecube era pretty much have overly complicated large power/reset/open buttons. It's common for the buttons to some how get stuck pressed in or something due to the mechanism not being aliened. I have had many PS1 systems where the button to open the lid gets stuck pressed in not allowing it to latch shut which is what I assume happened to that gamecube. Usually its a common fix. Sometimes you have to take the console apart to fix it, if you are lucky you can try wiggling the button to see if it gets unstuck.

The dumb and dumber clip was hilarious and a perfect fit! 🤣

Spring that holds gamecube cover closed is attached to the button which commonly gets sticky, very common problem fixed with isopropyl alcohol or moving the spring over inside the cover.

I saw one of your you-tube videos, at the end you were going to Home Depot for stuff needed for the house... do you guys have a Restore store in your area. Building supplies are donated and super cheap for the DIY person. Great videos.

i would suggest getting a uv light to check shoes too (fakes usually have stray markings that show where the factories are supposed to cut the maerial to make the shoe etc...

Inside tag usually never hangs it’s stitched all the way around

don't think you broke the game cube. I think it probably just needs cleaning and the guy was probably aware of the door being glitchy. If I am thinking of buying a console and all I do is open the door and then the door won't close, I'm definitely not offering to buy it. lol I was disappointed when you didn't buy the biker vest for Mose. Very common issue with the GameCube and other systems, just need to open the system and clean the button and it works great again.

I agree with the other comments. You did not break it. The GameCube needed a good cleaning. As a seller, he should have cleaned it up before trying to sell it. If he had given it a good cleaning, it would have passed your test. Great video as usual.

I'm surprised they don't give you a reason why they don't check out as authentic or not for those Jordans. The tags are sewn down on the inside so if they aren't they'll almost always fail even if the tag was ripped out. That's my guess on your shoes. It's getting harder and harder to tell what's real and fake on shoes and reselling them is definitely getting harder.

That is a common problem with Gamcubes. Often times you rattle the open button but it just means it needs to be cleaned most of the time

It is possible that they get it wrong, it's possible anyone does but when they say the tag its usually like the font, spacing or something like that is off. To someone not really into sneakers or knowledgeable on them they will NEVER notice it because it's so small of a difference to those people. Only if they are side by side will the "common" person see the difference in those small details

It's super common for those open buttons to stick most likely if you use a little rubbing alcohol on a que tip it would be fine again

Sticky buttons are common on GameCubes and it needed to be cleaned!

The button mechanism is dirty and remains stuck when pressed. A temporary solution is to hit the console hard on the right side next to the button with your palm a few times, the button will return to its normal state. For a permanent solution to the problem, the console must be dismantled and the entire closing mechanism cleaned.

Consoles ever since the N64, have had their buttons get stuck down like that. It's fixable, but you have to take it apart. I don't remember NES or SNES doing that, but I could be wrong. I don't know that seller, but he probably would have never known and it's unfortunate that you opened it which caused it to get stuck and not close again.

I had eBay tell me a pair of Fear of God Boots where not real on the west coast which I had checked with a local high end shoe reseller then sold on the east coast and where cleared. So get them checked locally

I don’t know anything about gaming systems but to me if you push the open button & it opens but it doesn’t close after opening, it had to have issues before you did that.

older gamecubes tend to be a little bit more clunky and rusty so the eject button could just stick down on the inside

Check out the bottom of the insoles of the shoes. Flat with no form for function (arch etc) or nike logos likely fake. I had to learn for myself after experiencing a similar situation.

I haven't had luck with them lately I submitted a pair to them that failed but a local shoe store said they are authentic.

Nike shoes, maybe from one of their outlets. Items made to be sold in outlet stores do have slight differences ((they cut corners to keep their overhead down)) than items made to sale in retail stores. For that amount of money I would take them into a local Nike retailer. Sometimes you can't get an accurate assessment with photos. Good luck.

The Gamecube open button was just gunked up, just means it was dirty/not cleaned. Happens very frequently with those consoles, it's not broken lol.

Most likely not broken, older systems (pretty much all the ones with open lids like that) can stick over time due to dirt and such accumulating. A good cleaning and it should be fine, even if not... I mean all you did was press is to see if it worked. Not really on you in that was the last press the mechanism had in it.

you did not break it...lots of retro consoles have the button stick..they usually need a clean..
