Both you and Maxim outdoors posted minutes apart videos on this location. It was interesting to watch two different perspectives on the same place.

Good evening Cliff. I first came upon this dam back in the late 90s. I make it a point to see it everytime I get up that way. Great to see you made it. It's a bit spooky back there.

There is something so fascinating about ruins. I think it’s the contemplation of former glory or someone’s vanished hopes and dreams. Kind of bittersweet, I guess. Thanks for the video.

I think Id prefer to live in the coke ovens, this place was too noisy. Ive been to Austin dam,so I can relate to the hugeness of this one I think this one is taller than Austin, maybe not. Glad you didn't lose anything irreplaceable. You had me worried there a couple times when you were on the top. Glad you didn't walk out. Stay safe my friend.❤❤❤❤❤

You really missed out by not walking across the top to the spillway.lifts room to sit once you get out there.me and a friend used to race along the top of this fast as we could run, gravel from erosion was a hazard back then in late 80s but it looks like it has gotten much worse.all that rebar was not exposed back then.I'd still walk it but older and wiser now, showing off days are behind me.

The dams in Rickett's Glen only lasted 50 years, and Lake Leigh was drained in 1957. Ricketts' daughter for whom it was named lived until 1970, and I wonder if she was sad to see her namesake lake disappear?

A fake dragonfly to keep away insects? I must hear more!!! I get bit up nonstop in PA summers. Seriously, sell those in your merchandise store. I need to try this.

There are ruins of another dam in that area you might want to visit. Mountain Spring ice house dam#2.

Cool video. I've been to Rickett's Glen many times, but I never knew about the dam. Do you know if there are any natural dams in PA?

That has to be THE most incompetent display of engineering I've ever seen. A conman obviously designed it, and an idiot paid him to build the stupid thing. Someone should research the whole, sad story and write a book about the orchestra of crooks and idiots who composed this blithering disaster.
