This was from their 1982 album 'Blackout' 2 yrs before 'Rock you like a hurricane'... the album was delayed 1 yr cos singer Klaus Meine was diagnosed w/ polyps on his vocals. The Scorpions refused to replace Klaus even when he couldn't even speak after the surgery. After months of therapy, Klaus finally recovered his voice and recorded the album that yielded this massive hit single... 🤘🤘🔥 The live version of 'No one like you' was released as a single in 1985 from their 'World wide live' album.

Speaking of Scorpions please react to some Dokken, they're similar to Scorpions (more glam but melodically very similar) but a little faster and heavier. The lead singer Don Dokken was very inspired by Klaus from Scorpions which you'll notice in his phrasing and they had one of the best guitarrists of all time George Lynch, such a melodic and interesting player with a guitar tone so sweet you may have a heart attack, in a good way ;) Don even was supposed to fill in for Klaus when he was in the hospital and they recorded some demos together. If you decide to react to them here's some tips along the way. Ballads: "Alone Again" "Walk Away" Fast paced and/or kickass 80's glam/heavy metal: "Tooth and Nail" "Kiss of Death" "Unchain the Night" "Into the Fire" "Lightning strikes again" "The Hunter" As a bonus I'll throw in "When Heaven Comes Down", it's much darker and sinister than the rest of their songs but god damn is it beautiful and melancholic and the guitar solo is one of my favorites of all time.

excellent song - excellent reaction as always, T. Not on same album as Hurricane. This one is on Blackout (1982). Hurricane is on Love at First Sting (1984) No One Like You was "our song" back in highschool for me and girlfriend. Lots of making out in my buddy's chevy rocking out to Scorps. This is one of my two favs of Scorps along with Still Loving You (which is on Love at First Sting with Hurricane).

This IS my favorite Scorpions song of all their music. I love the riff, I love the two guitar solos, I love the whole thing, it’s such an awesome song. Awesome song, awesome video, the 80’s were chock full of songs and cool videos. This song is my #1 air guitar song while I’m driving, if you happen to be on the road with me while this song comes on my radio you’ll witness some serious air guitar going on, lol. I love the two solos in this song, the one in the intro and the one in the middle, it’s not that their extremely technical solos, they’re more melodic, but they kick ass. When I learned to play guitar one of the things I was dying to learn was this song and it’s two cool solos. Stay cool 😎 and… \m/ Stay Metal \m/

One last thing. Blackout was the album when Klaus sounded his best. He had just had surgery to repair his vocal chords and relearned singing so he wouldn’t damage his voice. He had a brand new voice and, I think this album was a celebration for him, because of that.

That’s why Rudolf is so underrated. He is a huge part of those harmony leads. He could play lead for any other band on earth, but since Michael started in the band, he chose to be the best rhthym guitarist ever. I still think he is the second best metal guitarist ever behind his brother, and his end solos on most of the bands power ballads show just how good he really is.

i used to feel that way. now it's just nauseatingly overplayed. It irritates me that the radio and fair weather fans always play just this song when there's so many other great tracks throughout their library. Same is true with Def Leppard and Pour Sugar. So many greater songs on earlier albums (especially High and Dry album) but everyone just plays the shit out of Sugar.

This song was actually on the album before (Blackout) the one with Rock You Like a Hurricane (Love at First Sting). As to the Scorpions Styx battle, Styx was a great band until 1980, but after that, they became a pop band. Thus, they really can’t compare to a band that put out their first album in 1971 and we’re still putting out quality rock in the mid 1990’s. Having said that, one song by Styx that might compare favorably is their best song Suite Madame Blue. You said you heard Queen of Spades, which is a tremendous song, but Suite Madame Blue is a rock anthem. Check it out.

If you want to hear a totally different Scorpions, try something from their debut album "Lonesome Crow". "I'm Going Mad" or "Leave Me" are good choices. If you do "Im going Mad" don't do the promo video. it's a 3 minute edit of a 5 minute track. And the title track from their 2nd album "Fly to the Rainbow" is a journey. And "Is There Anybody There?" had a cool reggae vibe to it.

Why don’t we need Communism here? It never works. It has always turned into Totalitarianism and disaster for any country that tried it on the grand scale. When you won’t report airplane crashes unless someone famous from the country or a foreigner dies, because you want to keep the people’s confidence in your airlines, you know there is something wrong with your country. If it is so great, why do people CONTINUE to defect from Cuba. Nice ideas. Agree totally.
