0:39 I saw your black hair and I wondered who I was watching … then I realized I was looking at your hat, not your hair! Gave me a smile, for sure!! I am really enjoying all of these beautiful joints, thank you for teaching them to us!

what if I have to connect 15-20 ft beams 2.5 meters above floor? I don't think this will translate well, will it?

I could watch this for hours. But for quite some time now I am wondering: the tool used at 0:29 what kind of tool is that? What is its purpose?

Hello! It’s called a marking gauge. You set the length of your cut, run the gauge along where you need to make your cuts and the pin* scratches your cut lines for you. Carpenters and furniture makers used these gauges to mark consistent measurements. Marking gauges can also take the guesswork out of marking stock for a mortise and a tenon cut. A lot of woodworking hobbyists are starting to use marking gauges again because of their simple accuracy, along with the increased interest in the use of hand tools. Search KZread for “How to use a marking gauge”; once you watch a couple of videos then the tool and its use will make more sense to you. I hope this helps. Have a great day! *Some gauges use a blade or a pencil to mark your lines. You will also find that marking gauges are made out of wood or metal, and the head is either square or round.
