I've watched you for years. That classifier is a fantastic advance for the hobby. Using those with 5 gallon buckets will help us zoom thru the overburden layers and end the day with decent black sand concentrates. I appreciate your refreshing style of filming and look forward to the next one!

Sometimes it's not about the amount of gold you find but more about doing something you enjoy. I find just a few pieces of flower gold in a couple of buckets here in New Hampshire, but I love being outside and making memories with my son, that's what it's about for me!

I love those Arbor Fabricating classifiers. I use a regular 1/4 inch classifier that sits on top of the 5 gallon bucket, and after ever time you dump it out, you need to refill the water that sits in it. This looks much faster to classify.

I like watching and used mine with my dad in the upper cascades in washington state. I started in 1954 and was too young to argue but my dad had the "fever" bad. I was about six or seven years old but what he taught me stayed with me. One time here in alaska I used a baseball hat with the screen in the back of it and tried to pan some gold from the "Little Sue"river here in the Mat/Su valley and not expecting anything but the ground fascinated me... so try it and first try found a pea nugget! I was excited and tried for a while but to no avail and gave up. A couple of weeks go by and and one downpour of rain and I'm going by there again. Had to stop! Had a pan with me and a short no.2 shovel so gave it a whirl again.... Success as I got clearly a half once weighed on my triple beams and so went back with attitude the next day.. camped in my Explorer, not the best but not the worst and tried one more full day but nothing... notta no gold. Puzzles me that if I don't expect and don't try hard I find gold. I've done well over the years but too old to go any more. I don't want to win.. just share some of my fun experiences as I'm a mechanic, not a miner. I would now if I didn't hurt so bad. Ten years or more, I caught a man who fell from a ladder from the 8th rung and broke my back in five places in the Lumbar section and neck in two places. End of game for me, I' m 71 now and have to stay home but I still enjoy watching

I really like those Harbor Freight classifiers. If the handle would swivel out of the way they would be perfect. Also you may remember my story about AC magnets attracting gold. I just bought a 255 fishing magnet and tried to pick up a piece of copper tubing with it. If I just stuck it to the copper nothing happened but if I waved it rapidly over the copper I could make the piece of tubbing roll. All this to bring attention to your technique of rapidly waving your magnet over the black sand as I believe you are picking up more fines than if you slowly go over it. This was going to be two posts but I got tired of waiting for someone else to comment.

nice, like you said... i generally use a 1/8 or 1/4 inch as well for most time but classifying into a bucket the 1/2 tears through materials, but it is nicer to have it classified down again after if can for sure.
