Awesome Exposure - Murren Gimmelwald Klettersteig - Via Ferrata 2016

The Via Ferrata / Klettersteig at Murren above the Lauterbrunnen valley in Switzerland. We did it over 3.5 hrs. At 2:17 in the video you can see a base jumper fly from the VIA FERRATA BASE exit. The Nepal Bridge has only a right handrail until you can reach the top cable which makes it an interesting experience. I left some ladders and one small 3 wire bridge out of the video to fit in a short.
If you've done the Via Ferrata let me know what you thought of it. If you haven't done it ..put it on your tick list.

I've been on it three or four times. Just wonderful! The views and feeling adventure are awesome! And a couple of times I have seen base jumpers going, including from the bridge. One of the top experiences in the area. Try the Grindelwald Canyon Swing if you are ever back in the area.

Hey Neil, great video! I have done this via ferrata several times and loved it. However, what I have learned is that in the wet it is much more difficult and scary. Everything is slippy, even the cable you hang on to. A very different experience in the wet!

Thanks for sharing. I did it yesterday in just under 2 hours. I was alone so only got a few photos. Honestly, was absolutely terrifying. On the super exposed sections I was gripped, never looked down and was basically hugging the cable. I didn't find the single cable bridges to be that scary, but the Nepal Bridge was with the odd no hand holds until the middle.

That is absolutely 'awesome' - in my book definitely a bit more than just 'an interesting experience'! I have nothing but respect that you both achieved this - sadly no room on my tick list for something like this! (no head for heights........and this is more than just a height!). Steve

Great video. What time of year did you go? I just did Honnister in The Lakes the other day and found this while looking for some European inspiration!

We did this in August. We were going to do the Rostok via ferrata on the edge of the N.Face of the Eiger which is nearby but there had been a lot of rain before we were going to do it and were advised against it due to stonefall danger.
