    Penang CKT enthusiastic here. I have been following your whole ckt series. Being a northern malaysian who has stayed in sg for more than 3 years. I really miss Penang CKT. I have tried several Singapore CKT or so-called penang-ckt in Singapore stalls. There's no ckt can outclass penang authentic ckt. I don't like to make the assumption that malaysia food>Sg food as i dont think i have explored enough the best singapore food. Thanks for the shortlisted and recommended Singapore ckt. Definitely, i will try and taste it myself soon!

    that is because u are used to the taste of ckt u hv been eating since young. it's the same for me, I prefer our version of ckt although I think that Penang ckt is nice too.

    As per recommended, I have tried both Hai Kee and Meng Kee. I will be a returning customer to Meng Kee as there is option to add ingredients e.g eggs $1 and Lup Cheong $1. The increase in ingredients really elevates the experience. Hai Kee on the other hand don’t come with any options.

    lmao with fuwamoco voice in the middle I think in singapore, char kway teow is more commonly associated with affordable food, where as penang, it become some sort of specialty dish where chefs can showcase their creativity with stuffs like mantis prawn, etc

    Imho ... The best must include the quality if Chili in the mix. Ipoh C.K.T has vest garlic spicy hot chili sauce. Only my oppinion.

    IMO, Penang ckt and local ckt should not be together, they are different. But my opinion is same as your verdict, Hai Kee is the best local CKT currently in SG. And yes, I also think that CKT must be eaten fresh out of wok and dabao ckt is the last thing I will eat 😅

    I have never tried all the places you mentioned. The last time I had char kwan Teow in Singapore was in 1979. Never had another plate in Singapore again. I don’t like the way the noodles was cooked, a whole wok first, then divided into smaller individual selling portions. This is not the way char kwan throw is cooked. Yes, I agree Penang have much better char kwan teow provided it’s cooked in individual plate. If not the taste is also so so.

    Yeah, this is my favourite. Very flavourful and tasty, regardless on-the-spot or after dabao. The kway teow is good to eat on its own, similar to importance of the Rice in chicken rice.

    You're right! Gall bladder problem could also be caused by Higher Carbs CKT with lesser ingredients (result in high insulin). You may want to learn more about Keto Diet or try Low Carbs CKT (e.g., Shirataki or Konjac Noodles).

    All those problems exist because of high body fat level, same like insulin resistance. If you have lean body with high muscle mass, you don't even need to think about cardiovascular problems.

    All Char Kway Teow stalls are lousy BECAUSE they mix yellow noodle into a CKT dish... & I have not found one who will fry only with Kway Teow without the noodle... NAME should be changed to .." Char KwayTeow Mee "..

    Hey Alderic, please for the sake of integrity and authenticity do not confuse some of your viewers. “Char Kway Teow” by definition describes the flat rice noodles. What was presented as Char Kway Teow from Penang is true and authentic. What you’ve in Singapore is actually Kway Teow Mee, not Char Kway Teow. It’s apples and oranges by comparison of the 2 dishes. Even I know the difference! It’s such a relief that you have given due credit to the authentic Char Kway Teow from Penang.

    Best Char Kway Teow in Ipoh. My Personal Version : I hate the blood taste of cockles in the noodles. No cockles in my plate. I like big prawns meat (de-shell), pork intestine, choy sum far (organic), chives, many big beans sprout (put last) & deliciously made sambal belacan calamansi chilli sauce. Noodles : Width Kway Teow & Thin Yellow Noodles. Seasoning: 1. Light soy sauce 2. Dark Soy Sauce 3. Garlic Mince 4. Oyster Sauce 5. Lard Oil or Fried Garlic Oil Method: Wok Hei (High Fire) Others: Duck Egg (Cook separately, never mix with noodles)

    Hill St ckt? NAH!!! Grew up in bedok and ate HS ckt whilst the father was frying ... one of the best. But since the son too over, it was downhill all the way. Food was bad and attitude of fryer (dun call him chef) and helper/sister was bad ... will never eat HS ckt ever again.
