I am not a crossfitter but I love watching the sport anytime it is aired. Quite frankly I am addicted to watching the sport because the athletes are incredible and most have such an inspirational attitude for us weekend warriors to follow. So, you could say I am the target market for Crossfit, if they want to grow into a legit, popular, sport. I want to reiterate that I love the athletes, they work their butts off all season and perform amazing physical fitness feats that we could only dream possible a few decades ago. Yet, this season was very off putting for me, from the Crossfit organization itself. To say they are amateurish would be a complement. From them pulling Caron and Foxall in the semi-finals but still allowing Wells to continue on the games for doing the exact same thing. Shows there are no rules and decisions are being made subjectively and smacks of favoritism. Next, there should not be cuts at the games! Yes, you can compare to other sports and make the excuse of time and space, but, so what! Everyone hailed Khrennikov for continuing on while injured but there were many athletes that did the exact same thing during the games and were lost in the shuffle because they were cut. The cuts actually assisted Khrennikov in maintaining his podium position, even though, he did the exact same thing that got Caron and Foxall removed from the semi finals. If there were still the full 40 athletes competing from beginning to end then he would have finished in the bottom part of the last two events, perhaps 40th place in each and Fikowski would have been in 3rd place. Again, I have nothing what so ever against Wells or Khrennikov, they are both amazing athletes and it is not their fault that the games organizers are a mess. As the saying goes, "don't hate the player, hate the game." Remember Crossfit, there is a business axiom that for every person that vocally complains there are 10 others that feel the same but remain silent. Crossfit needs to do better if they want to grow a non Crossfiter fan base. If this kind of gong show continues, I, for one, will lose interest in the sport.

A lot of dumb people (Dave, Boz) that don't get the concept of CROSSfit, and have no clue about arithmetic. Cuts change everything. Points skewing toward top finishes, or not change everything. Never mentioned. And random "minimum work requirements" and disqualifications just add to the unfairness.

Couldn't agree more. Welcome to the shit show. I've always said that the CF games are the most poorly executed sporting event, year after year. It's almost inexplicable that something like this could be so overtly mismanaged. The only reasonable assumption is that Castro and Bozman go into a conference room and huff keyboard cleaner between bouncing ideas off of each other.

@@Ilovekclightfoot She 0 repped workout #2 in the North American East semi. Assuming due to injury but then she was fresh to push hard and finish 9th in workout #3. As I said, nothing against her. She did what the rules allowed. Caron even asked the judge during his event if it was okay for him to just swing on the rings and not do any reps and the judge said it was okay. Then they DQ'd him from the warm up area right before the next event. Basically the exact same scenario as Wells. Same for Foxall, who was also removed.

Glad to see different winners and different people in different podium spots. The same people winning all the time or on the podium all the time stagnates the sport IMHO. Seeing 'new' athletes in the later heats is also refreshing. I love Annie and Katrin and Noah and Sam, and it was a little weird not to see them in top heats but it's exciting to see the others come to the front. Sport is ever evolving and the top athletes don't stay there forever. We have to recognize and appreciate up and comers because they are literally the future of the sport. Congratulations to all the athletes. The coverage was sketchy but the competition was great. If CF Games ever comes to the East Coast I will actually get to attend live and that would be amazing. Now looking forward to the Rogue Invitational!

I think it’s going to improve over time. The sport compared to most is still pretty young. They were trying to legitimize it more by having it on espn but man was that a mess this year. Idn what happened there. Hopefully they work out all of the kinks for next year. Not all fans are ever going to be 100% satisfied all of the time but this year’s coverage was roughhh
