Awakening from the Trance of Self-Centeredness - Tara Brach

Awakening from the Trance of Self-Centeredness - Tara Brach [2023-09-27]
At the core of our suffering is our universal human predicament: an illusion that we are a separate self. This talk explores how this identification as a self obscures our belonging to loving awareness, and offers a powerful set of practices that shine a light on self-centeredness and relaxes its grip.

Tara the videos you create have given me peace. I am currently going through a time what feels incredibly difficult and I can feel a massive shift is happening and its feels painful, scary and unknown. But this makes everything less so. From one tree to another, thankyou! ❤

This was a very powerful talk and meditation… I’m reading “I Am That” by Sri Nisargaddata now. This meditation really opened my field of awareness and consciousness. I’m going through a health crisis “living in the ocean and not the ego self” was the healing place I needed to be in. I’m also reading “Profound Healing”. Thank you, Tara your work is invaluable 🩵✨🙏🏼🦋

This may be a silly question but why are Western folks combining Buddhism and Hinduism? Teaching Buddhist principles while saying Namaste? It's odd to me, as someone who grew up in a Buddhist country and never heard "Namaste". Sorry if the question offends, it's something I have noticed that confuses me.

That’s what the west does…it combines things. Tara says “namaste” because she most likely does yoga and practices Buddhism. I actually think this is how we evolve…see what works and what doesn’t for you and continue on

Interesting. " western " " buddhist" " hindu" are all stories of the mind/ up to us how we alchemise Our energy whatever the labels of anyone. Sure there are disciplines, traditions, religions...none of us are confined to. Where we are born, we chose. We have all been black, yellow, white, red. All been man, woman. All becoming. All expanding. Sensing the intention behind words and what we intend to illuminate seems more interesting now, coz we've all been communicating and connecting for like ever/ what are we doing With it? What are you seeing with Your observations/ what does it mean to You?
