Totally agree. Can get the Elite package on the Limited to make the prices the same and give the Limited an equally nice (blue & white leather) interior, but I prefer the Longhorn Limited's lighter color interior. Just looks really good to me.

Working at a manufacturing company for many years, I'll try to simplify why this modified Longhorn costs more than an equivalent Limited model. The Limited model has certain parts included as part of the original assembly. When components are optioned beyond the standard model package, it adds to the build cost (installation). Various models exist to try and provide most of what a demographic wants in a production package. Customizing a truck (from the dealer or afterward) means you have to pay ala carte pricing. Why - because those options aren't part of the production build, they are added after the model package is completed.

Just bought a perfect condition 51000 mile 2020 Longhorn for 45000 with a hemi and every option. I love it. Beautiful truck.

My must haves: Hemi and chrome bumpers.

Dollar for dollar, the Laramie with Level B equipment group, Southwest Edition and Advanced Safety Group is the best value in the Ram lineup. You sacrifice some of the interior materials and luxury feel that the Longhorn and Limited offer, but make up for it with features and savings.

It’s standard on 2023 Limited and Longhorn over here. It might not be available for trucks going to the Netherlands yet. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have an early-adopter 2019 Longhorn with everything. I love the power running boards but made a huge mistake in getting the panoramic sunroof. I detest sunroofs but ordered it for the next owner. Nobody told me it was going to raise the interior temperature of the car greatly, because the shade is covered in black material and is not insulated. I ended up cutting a piece of bubble-wrap silver insulation to PERMANENTLY sandwich between the shade and the glass. The AC is minimal, even with the TSB applied, so you need all the help you can get. I probably would not have gotten the PLASTIC Ram Boxes either, despite being sexy. They condemn me and all subsequent owners to never using a cap, a one-piece hinged cargo cover, ladder rack or camper and the choice of tonneau covers is short. The good news is that I still love my Ram, even though I was expecting it to be rubbish based on the company's reputation. I could go on and on, but the sunroof disaster is the reason I commented.

Tint the sunroof with the best heat blocking tint at your local tint shop and problem will be solved. If you really want to block the heat tint all the windows. I have all black SUV with black leather in a sub tropical carribean climate and the tint makes all the difference. Worth the investment.

I can't imagine NOT having the rambox storage now. I've had rams for the last 22 years, my 2014 ecodiesel came with the rambox, I couldn't believe how amazing they were. I became so accustomed to having them for my job and helping at our family farm that they were a second thought. Lost the truck to a drunk driver a month ago, and now I'm waiting on my 2022 to be delivered, with yes, more rambox storage boxes. I've spent the last month in a rental ram and it's been horrible. Nice truck, but it has NO options, and I am continually finding myself "Oh that's in the rambox" and having to remember that this isn't my truck and there are no storage boxes. All my stuff is in three garbage bags in the garage (from the rambox storage) awaiting the new truck haha.

As I say this, I have wondered if there were a way for Ram to improve them, maybe come up with a door that would open downwards, and still leaves the top portion in place on the box so you can use all the options you mentioned. Not sure there would be a way but if Ram figured that out I'll bet a lot of people would be interested.

You can literally go and get ceramic tint on your sunroof and fix the problem for a few hundred dollars. Pano sunroof is amazing if and only if you do that one thing

I can't believe someone actually said it out loud. The most annoying thing about Ram is you don't know how the truck you're buying is equipped. Limited used to be loaded full stop. Longhorn basically the same with the cowboy theme. What you get in these upper end Rams seems as if it depends on how someone at the factory is feeling. The Elite is t he same as the supposed unique styling of the 10th anniversary edition. Excellent job pointing out this Tom Foolery

I just wanted to add that you can't trust Rams build/price configurator 100%. In '22 when I built my Laramie 1500 I wanted the "Advanced Safety Group", and "Level B Equipment Group, and the "Power Running Boards". But, everytime I clicked the "Power Running Boards" I got a pop-up that said I couldn't have the "Advanced Safety Group" with the boards. When I sat down with my sales person I ask him why that was. He said he never heard of it, and said let's see what my order page says. Low, and behold I was able to order both with no problems. So as I said, do not trust Rams build, and price configurator. Always ask.

How do I turn on the camera's that show how close you are to the curb when parking. The right and left buttons were on my display but now they have disappeared.

Can someone please advise me if i have to buy a used 5th gen RAM 1500, which trim and what maximum mileage would be best buck .. thanks

Thanks for this video. What are your thoughts on buying a used 2021 longhorn Limited with hemi torque? The truck only has 11,000 miles on it. I am concerned about the 48 load battery but they’re very reliable I don’t know.

Not going to pick on any brand but all of the Big Three have those so called TRAPS. If a customer walks into any dealership without doing his homework before signing those many pieces of paper, he deserves to pay a premium. The internet is a good place to start by specing out his dream, then going to the dealer to see what it will really cost. That sales person is NOT your best friend when it comes to the his paycheck but he usually does expect some negotiating..( I'm still finding it difficult to believe that my current mildly equipped F150 XLT had an MSRP higher then my last P/U, a loaded 5er packaged, F350 Lariat CCLB diesel.)

Usually better off jumping up a trim level, on resale alone youll get more.....loaded lower trims dont fetch the extra money you paid for all the options.....youll still take a hit just lesser of one

I really dislike the build tool they give you for ordering these trucks. (And it's not just Ram) If you want a certain option, you have to buy a package, but then sometimes that package cancels out other options you wanted, even though the options have nothing to do with each other. It's super annoying. The other annoying part with styling.. I'm not a fan of a 2-tone interior where the carpet/seats/dash is 1 color, but the pillars and headliner are that light tan color. In order to get 1 color, you have to pay more and buy an optional package. Super annoying.

Yeah, I bet Rebel has similar issues compared to levels above too. The options alone can be 20k+. Ram has selectively increased pricing on certain options over the past year.

It's definitely something to be aware of. I talked about it in my last full video comparing the Laramie and the Longhorn. I can get a Laramie that's got a ton of options for the the same price as a pretty basic Longhorn.

Those are rear wheel drive luxury cars masquerading as pickups. In the 1970s there were station wagons with longer beds than those short boxes.

I just bought a 2022 brand new limited - 10th anniversary edition for $51,000 and the MSRP was over $74,000. Get a 2022!

I don’t think the Hurricane has been confirmed to be on the 24 Rams yet. However, in the Grand Wagoneers that we’ve received with the Hurricane, they’ve been fun to drive.

My 22 Ram Longhorn has the hemi and nice interior, and bed liner with the lights. Doesn’t have split tailgate, those cool running boards, moonroof, bigger screen, or bed side boxes. 60k. This other dealer was trying to sell a big horn with cloth interior for 59k

It is funny to see how the guy is making such a big deal out of $2K being an outcome of one nonsense put on top of another one, whereas a "big deal" should have been made out of the fact that at the end those pieces of crap cost nearly $80k each 😂...

I just want the wheels off of the limited so I can get a 6 lug conversion kit and slap those 2 tones beauties on my 02 Intrepid 🤣🤷🏾

​@prestonflanikensellscars9640 . I guarantee you it's real wood. The reason it looks that way is because they laminate layers of alternating color woods into very thick pieces. They then slice very thin veneer sheets off the END of those blocks, not the flattest surface. That is what gives it that uniform grain pattern. Take it from someone who's been in woodworking for 45 years. The only exception may be the small piece at the bottom of the steering wheel. Too curvy to bend veneer in those tight radii.

Im sure I will just keep my 2011 Ram 2500 6.7 4x4 that is payed for besides your a Chevy fan

I despise the black interior that ALL the RAM trucks are going to, except the Longhorn. I have a 2008 with tan interior and would like that option for a new truck. I may be switching brands...

I double checked, the Big Horn & Laramie don’t currently have the brown interior option. My apologies. I haven’t seen anything that says those options are discontinued, but I could have missed a memo. Brown interior might be available later in the model year.

Great Video amigo! Seems like gonna cost me lots of money to have fully loaded Longhorn like $86K MSRP with rambox, multifunction tailgate, pano sunshade etc....OUCH...seems like better value in the Limited

The LIMITED sure sounds like the BETTER BUY to me …I wouldn’t even consider the Longhorn between the two of these trucks ! V-6 over a v-8 ABSOLUTELY NOT

Your opinion is noted and without supporting evidence....it has been dismissed. lol I actually think all of the manufacturers do certain things well. I don't care for Fords because the seats make my back hurt after about 20 minutes of riding in them. That might have changed with the new designs.

Why can’t they just have equipment exclusive to trims alone? You buy this trim, it’s all you get, higher the trim, the more equipment you’ll get on it. Excluding colors, leather seats.

The customer can go to a Chevy dealer and order a bare bones Silverado “WT” and get the GM “MULTI-FLEX” tailgate which once upon a time was only available on Big dollar “GMC’s”

My 2023 LoneStar looks nothing like either of those.

I'm sorry i just bought my new 2023 limited and i can tell you that if want luxury then the limited is the best choice there are way more differences between the two than this guy's telling you you really can't option the long same as the limited
