As a Bangladeshi, I'm disheartened this happened to you Luke. There's a lot of scammers out here unfortunately and we always have to stay vigilant, definitely not the best of experiences. Have someone be with you when you're visiting such local and crowded areas and maybe visit some of the more sophisticated places here in BD so that at least you're able to communicate on a higher level. Please go to the modern parts of Dhaka like gulshan, Banani or dhanmondi as well. You are staying at one of the busiest parts of Dhaka currently. Very hectic to stay there

Sorry this happened to you. If I was in Dhaka (I'm Bengali American) and an annoying scammer approached me, I would have literally smacked him. My gentle mom even hates these people and she even grew up in BD. These guys are the worst. Truly poor people don't haggle you like that, they just beg while you pass by them.

The 2nd guy is legit, he is linked with movie industry in Bangladesh. basically right next to the fish market it is the Bangladesh Film development corporation HQ. and fun fact, some innocent question can be very disturbing in Western standard, like asking if you are muslim or if you are married.

I just went to Bangladesh 2 weeks ago and many people were like this but not as bad. I would suggest never telling anyone where you’re staying though. You never know what could happen.

I know Bangladesh is not a tourist country but you have honored us by visiting Bangladesh and show the world how beautiful the country is. speaking of scam or beggars, I live in USA there are more here than any other country but you know how handle them so nicely without any problem. I watch you and all other vlogger's and I am so glad that you guys only offer food if someone asked for money. if some one ask me for me money I asked if you hungry let me buy you food because those people are lazy and do not want to work. I also noticed everyone who visit Bangladesh mostly visits the city and resort areas but if I may suggest if you could visit any village of Bangladesh you will see the real beauty of Bangladesh or take a trip to Sundarbans . I am sure Nadir can arrange that for you. again thanks a lot for visiting Bangladesh and have a nice and safe stay.

I'm from Sylhet, and seeing Dhaka through your lenses makes me feel so good about people in Sylhet & feel bad for the people living in Dhaka. It's a crazy, chaotic city. I won't be able to live there

Im from london a british been bangladesh sylhet 4 times for the first time in 2018 2019. I am 39 years age. I never seen this kind of inccident in sylhet.
