Avoid These Van Conversion MISTAKES
Van Conversion Mistakes are common for everyone, and I am no exception. I have collected 6 Van Build Mistakes that I have made so you don’t have to. All 6 of these Cargo Van Mistakes could have been avoided but I simply didn’t think about them during the Van Build.
This was my first Cargo Van Build Out and I explain how I would fix each of these Cargo Van Conversion Mistakes. I went with a Chevy Express 1500 model for my Van Build and because it is so small there is no space to waste. Likely the Van Build Regrets I have been minor and with a Van Remodel they can all be easily fixed, but it would have been nice to get it right the first time.
The Mistakes I made involve everything from storage sizing and spacing, to wood finishing. From the Bed to the sink, many things could have been done differently but these ones stand out!

One of my favorite, creative things on your build is the roof deck. I'm going to steal that idea and use Trex (a composite material) that would last longer than the van itself 👍

The mattress partition/compartment is an excellent idea!
I would just cut notches in the dividers for longer items.

I haven't personally experienced this but @Vancityvanlife talks about leaving areas for air to get behind walls to dry moisture also rubber in the front floorboard holds moisture so use carpet to allow moisture to dry.

With the curtains im not understanding why you cant just grab a pair of scissors and cut length from the bottom. Am i missing something? 🤔
First mistake most DYI make.. They don't get all the tools they will need to build them first... Then they end up taking short cuts. That they have to go back and fix right...I know. I did the same thing....
do you have any build videos coming... ? i know this is a year old, but would love some more indepth videos... really like this van and i just picked up an older Ecoline cargo totally bare so its ready to convert :)
Everything I've done so far is all mistakes. I can't even cut a board straight.😳😡🤣

Drilled holes in the planks and used U bolts!
Alright.
You can still treat the wood, and nope it doesn't make your van more stealth 🤣 please get a square sink get away from the idea of a bowl will be easier to wash any dishes and you still can stay very small
