Stinks that I could only give this video one thumbs up! All your points are spot on for someone starting out. I'm 43 and have made all the mistakes you mentioned and then some. I know that my small farm would be much further ahead today if I had done the things that you mention. I too bought a new tractor which I really like, but fear eventually it will also suffer from O.S.S. 😂 Another thing I see a lot of young men especially sucked into is buying brand new pickup trucks that will bleed them dry financially and when they finally pay them off, most of them will be junk by then. Lenders keep extending the payment term length out which gains them ridiculous amounts of interest while enticing the buyer with lower monthly payments. All this really does is make it harder to get anywhere while paying on that loan. Thanks for the video, you picked up a new subscriber.

Thank you! I used to have a problem with trading trucks almost every year. It will turn you upside down in a hurry.

“Big” farmers would benefit from your video. It is amazing to watch the amount of money lost to interest

Well I’m glad we agree 👍 I’m in the process of getting my farm started and it’s a slow process as I’m avoiding debt and trying multiple livestock types to see what will be profitable, enjoyable etc. I’m also giving KZread a shot lol Good luck 🍀 on your farm journey!

Love that old Farmall! I've got an early 70's Ford 4000 and an old 8N, both great tractors.

Thank you! I love it, too. My dad was a Ford tractor guy. I grew up on a 5000. He also had a 3000. Those were good old tractors.

That's the point. Agree. I'm planning to buy a small land/farm (20 to 30 acres) before retire to start an enterprise with just a few chickens, sheeps, pigs and low-line Angus (just a few). In order to do that, I tought to get a bank loan, but I'm positive now to sell a house in Galveston (TX) and have to continue working remote at least 3 years or more and avoid debt while the new land is going to be consolidate and I learn about of this new and amazing farm's world. I don't want to die without trying. Thanks for the video and your suggestions.

Seen a few videos and subscribed. Im also a tall skinny with epic analytical skills and a childhood love of this way of life. Did it once before and failed due to city job obligations. Now, its a fallback but if one puts their effort in, its not something that will have to come up. Thanks for taking the lead. See you around and hope to share our journey's. 🍻

Maybe a co-op between farmers is the answer, sharing equipment.
