Excellent video! I mostly agree with your stance on having "sales". I feel like reasonably priced animals don't need to be "on sale" in general. THAT being said, IF I have some babies that I have taken to show after show and its been sitting on MM for 6 months or more, I tend to do "show specials"(AKA SALES lol) where I will mark some snakes down FAR below market just to move them to make room for babies that are hatching. I do like how Garrick DeMeyer runs his sales. He is never the cheapest and usually not the most expensive breeder on MM. But when he runs his "Black Friday" sale or a few others, you can get some gorgeous power packed snakes and a below market value. We are in a bad spot at the moment in the market where too many people jumped in during the last few years and the market is saturated with snakes right now. Especially with the amount of people selling off collections and getting out. It feels like the bottom has hit and is now starting to trend back up at shows. I can't blame MM for me not selling much since I haven't been listing animals on MM lately. Glad to have found your channel! My friends at Leviathan have mentioned you several times and I finally found you! Keep up the good work! I'mhoping to get some tutoring from Steven to get my channel off the ground.

Not aimed at you. Don't understand why some people will pair like 200+ snakes while they still have loads of unsold babies from the previous season still in the racks. Isn't that irresponsible and promoting poor breeding practices.

@@ChunkyKitKat87 so the honest answer to that is most breeders aren’t breeding their snakes for other people. They are breeding to continue their own projects, so when the females are ready that will advance a particular project, she will be bred. Plus starting the breeding process can sometimes take 6-8 months or more before getting eggs or seeing new babies. So they still have plenty of time to sell snakes while breeding for the next season.

i think sales are great for the pet market animals since they probably wont reproduce. If its in the investment market, the cheaper you buy it, the cheaper you will sell the offsprings

Highly recommend buying from Brandon he’s been great. As someone who is new like myself, I feel like I have to set prices lower. It’s hard to gain trust when you’re just starting. It’s something I have run in to.

Good video 🤟 I've got mixed feelings on the sale thing, I feel like it's a tool, but the madness deal over utilized it and honestly feels like it undervalued some things big time! There's definitely an aspect of over pricing something and losing money holding, example last year I priced a DG combo male at 1800 initially and slowly lowered the price over a year as people kept slashing, I ended up taking 500 for that male, where as if I would have come in at a price point like 1k maybe slightly more I know he would have sold at that point rather than me slowly decreasing and ultimately being over priced for the market through that course. It can be tricky in today's market for sure! Now if that was a female then no biggie hold ground and breed her eventually but a male with no usefulness to me I could have made double what I did and sold a year sooner if correct on the price off the rip.

Totally and males are one of those unfortunately they do kind of need to be sold that year to maximize the value on the production. Some stuff is def for the pet market almost regardless of the genetics attached to them mostly the het males or dh males. Pricing is def tough with so many options and variety. you can find hypo ? I cant in canada ,nothing interesting on morph market. people are all working with clown /pied.

Best idea: make them very expensive and wait if some idiot buys it and if noone does lower the price until someone buys it

That's why the BP market is crashing. *GREED* Now they're lucky to give a lot of their snakes away. They will all tell you differently though of course.
