The sounds used in the melody in this are better than the winey sound in the original, I'd actually say the sounds in this are more Avicii like than the original and if he played it out live people who didn't know what it was would expect it to be an Avicii production

Very true with that statement! I think Avicii felt he had to give it a bit of a Garrix vibe as it was a collab between the two. The synth for that lead in my opinion ruined it and it should have been more like this with the a bit of a Tropical House vibe to it. Sam did a fantastic job with keeping the vibe of the original but changing it up and doing the song justice!
