The Avengers; a series that gave us a male AND a female lead... without beating the audience over the head with it like today's shows. Honor Blackman; a televisual pioneer. She will be missed. (1925 - 2020)

I have been watching her episodes over and over again for decades👍

Now it makes much more sense that Honor Blackman was cast in Goldfinger (1964).

If you notice , Honor used many of the same moves in Goldfinger that she used in The Avengers.

I think that was part of the reason she got the role; beauty, BRAINS, and real fighting skills.

Before Emma Peel was Catherine Gale , the best for me !

Marvelously intense facial expressions & a wicked karate chop. Should've included her great line just before the first clip -"Do you really need a gun to deal with a woman?". And that close-up at the end - oooooh my!

Honor Blackman had an actual black belt. In the grave yard fight scene, she really broke the man's jaw. He was. Professional wrestler and finished the scene anyway.

What a woman! 👌🙏👏👏

I love the Jakie Palo scene where she accidently knocked him out.

TRIVIA NOTE: Jessica Alba named her daughter after Honor Blackman.

She was better than Emma, Tara, and Purdy in the fighting department!

The way the first 3 seasons were shot, Honor Blackman had to pretty much do this all in 1 take and she did not have a luxury of a Stunt Double like Diana and Linda had.

@@billmurray7473 I'm pretty sure WORLDWIDE, people knew who Catherine Gale was. Not so sure about Honey West though.

@@jeffsullivan2044 the reason Honey West wasn't renewed was because it was cheaper for ABC to import the Avengers from Britain. By this time, Honor Blackman had left the series so American audiences did not know Cathy Gale.
