When I was growing up these stories were almost legendary to my friends and I as they would be referenced to in the books we were reading at the time. Thanks for the review!

This was another great spotlight. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on volume 4, especially the Kree/Skrull War. I really wish Marvel would reprint these as it's been so long.

It's very surprising that they haven't had reprints yet, I have to think there will be at some point

John Buscema is such an art god... beautiful stuff and puts most part in any era to shame.

Yeah there's some excellent examples of late 60s/early 70s era artwork in here, with John Buscema's work being a real highlight!

Mike, thank you for the review. Among the 5 omnibus ( 4 & 5 reprints are due next month I think) which gives the best bang for buck ? Is there a difference between old omnibus printings me the new printings in terms of paper quality, binding and colour ? Many people in forums mention that Donnelly printings were superior since bleed out was less and quality and binding are better. As a new omnibus buyer I’d appreciate your advice. Consensus among fans seems to rate volumes 4 & 5 ahead of 3 with 1 & 2 appearing at the bottom rung. Thank you Mike for your review. “ Big “ John Buscema’s art was the best for me.

Thanks for watching! So yeah volume 4 will be reprinted as well next month, 5 is coming out in November and is a new release. As for paper quality, generally yeah in the last couple of years or so Marvel omnibuses have started to use thinner paper than they did in the past so the reprints of all these Avengers omnis will have thinner paper than these ones I show in my reviews as they're first printings released years ago. Overall the thinner paper doesn't bother me really, although I know it does bother some, and the binding has always been just as good on new omnis as it was in older ones in my experience.

Unfortunately you're probably right, Marvel don't seem to be in any rush to get to printing that one

When comics jumped to 15c, I stopped reading them. Actually, I just turned the page and enjoyed the artwork.
