About On Cinema:
On Cinema is Adult Swim's finest authority on film, comparable to the great French film magazines in both content and depth. Host Tim Heidecker (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) and recurring guest Gregg Turkington illuminate which of the latest films are must-see's, which are unofficial sequels to unrelated films, and which aren't worth your time on a scale of one-to-five bags of popcorn. The coveted five bags of popcorn might not be given out easily, but that's kind of the point. See every episode of this enriching talk show now at AdultSwim.com.

And whenever I try to recommend it to people They never watch it. I guess it will have to remain a hidden gem for us Deckerheads.

When I watch these guys talk, I feel like I'm sitting at a blues music festival in the early hours of the morning with my dad and one of his bad jazz musician friends, just talking about movies. Their vast repertoire of movies is exceeded only by the sheer lack of insight of each word they utter. Overall, the experience makes you feel empty, like time has stopped. And, in a way, it's beautifully comforting.

I was in tears when listening to Tim's struggle from last weekend. He not only hadn't eaten all day, suffering from low blood sugar, but was completely tapped out standing on the edge of the sixth street bridge ready to jump. Us On Cinema fans are lucky he had one last card to play against the Delgado's. His actions literally saved On Cinema just minutes before jumping to his death and then he still came onto the show and did what he does best, giving us expert advice on The Avengers starring Chris Pratt. I immediately followed his recommendation to check it out and it is definitely the movie that I will be enjoying all summer long. It's unquestionably the five bag movie he claimed it was. I just can't believe that Tim put his trust in Gregg with all his "expertise" to save the day after he tried to pull that hat bullshit again. He then gave The Avengers an insulting score of 5 bags of popcorn and an Ant-Man DVD. Gregg even has the audacity to claim he is a movie expert then proceeds to waste our time showing us a shit quality segment on hot dog buns. It sickens me to think that Gregg believes he deserves to host the very show that Tim has put his germ free heart and soul into.

I'm sure the grocery store would not like the negative publicity if he saw that the Popcorn Classic Father of the Bride had failed to change something for the better. Gregg (as always) is filled with infinite film buff knowledge. He really nailed how utterly confusing it is nowadays with folks discussing _The Avengers_ . I'm always picturing Uma Thurman (or Emma Peel) in a catsuit accompanying a dude always carrying an umbrella. I don't know what to say. _The Avengers_ title was already taken. Sorry comic kids. Gregg standing up for high Hollywood standards may stop this whole title controversy that everyone is talking abuzz about from reaching fever pitch. Gregg, your the hero we need, but certainly don't deserve. We love you, Gregg!

Being first doesn't make your film better. Americans made the name "Avengers" awesome while the British version is regarded as one of the worst films of all time.

I think your trying to waffle a bit, Ol' Chap. Do you realize how utterly important movie titles truly are to a "master codebreaker" such as Kingston (err.. Gregg) himself? Aren't comic book kids always doing the equivalent of pissing all over KZread comment sections with cries of "I'm first," et al? How is this title debacle situation any different from any other whining from Millennial whipper snippers? _The Avengers_ 90's adaptation is & always will be forever "First." Gregg's is the only opinion that matters to a true film buff. "And a good day to you, kind sir!"

Nah, i like pancakes better bro, like Akechi from Persona 5. And I literally never seen a comic fan even mention the old Avengers, (And for good reason too as stated earlier, but it could also be that British Avengers never became a household name, unlike the American one.) Oh, and i'm not doubting the guy, its good to see people know what they are talking about. And bragging about being first speaks nothing of it's overall quality as we see nowadays. So to my fellow human being: A good day to you too.

I’m so glad the Delgados saw Tim’s talents for what they are, and I think Tim is doing great under pressure. Perhaps this is just the golden combination that makes the show even better! Judging from this episode, Tim seems even more professional, there’s room for personal, emotional tales, Gregg seems to be able to relax more, the movie banter is tight and insightful, and we even get professional actor Joe Estevez’ industry point of view on the matter. Thanks Delgados, Tim, and everyone involved for such an amazing episode!

Love how Tim checks his notecard before introducing Estevez. He is such a tantamount professional, so focused, that he forgoes the sincere and real friendship once the cameras roll, all business, even has to resort to the cards. Sad how many warning signs there were yet none of his friends or coworkers(too busy worrying about your Tim Burton beef to notice a suicidal coworker huh?). Amazing story. Tim LITERALLY put his life on the fucking line for On Cinema. There can be no doubt who cares for this show the most. Sickening how immature and unprofessional Gregg is acting even after that story came to light. I'm a major Gregg-head, and even I am growing tired of his childish antics.

Gregg, if they filmed it today and the script said the same thing, Steve Martin’s character would say the same things, and the bun selection would be changed to match the script. Your reviews are typically super helpful, particularly when touching upon relevant title and categorization issues - but here you made a mistake in a basic misunderstanding of what a movie vs a documentary is.
