    this is without a doubt the best avenged sevenfold song ever, not because it's 11 minutes long, but because it has soul, probably the best guitar work they have done, best drum work, best lyrics, best bass line, best vocals, and the best structure, it's like every thing avenged sevenfold has ever been up to that point in that one song, the breakdown could easily go on sounding the seventh trumpet or waking the fallen, the solo's have a city of evil feel to it, the piano and orchestra backing's could easily come off the self titled album too, but that is just my opinion, but they need to play this song more often, maybe as the last song, yeah unholy confessions is a great song to finish with, but this one kinda beats it

    Great points, sir. I absolutely love this song and feel that it is not loved enough by some. Also, when Avenged Sevenfold was interviewed about their favorite songs from Nightmare, most said either "Save Me" or "Buried Alive"

    This song is an absolute masterpiece. Super melodic, sad, epic, and full of raw emotion with a deep tone. A7X truly reached their inner Dream Theater in this song. The whole Nightmare album was musical genius, I'm grateful to have the instrumental version of the album, it's absolute bliss to listen to. Every band member is exceptional at what they do and their style is absolutely unparalled. I could go on forever talking about Avenged Sevenfold but the point is, they are criminally underrated.

    I may be concerned as a overly sensitive sissy but I started to cry with the widest smile of my life at 9:32, while watching it with my girlfriend. It is not only the greatest band or the song of all fuckin' time, but also us, all of the Deathbats worldwide, for making these magical moments come to life, watching this even on KZread is truly astonishing... I can't find proper words to describe my feelings at that time. Goosebumps, chills and a tear falling down my cheek. We don't need to hail to the king. We need to hail to these 5 guys, because they create moments that make us all forget about all the evil in the world, when we all together sing this one line with the power of hundreds of thousands voices. Some may hate us or me in particular but I simply love them. For all these things that they have done and are going to do in the future, I will stand by them foREVer. We all love Avenged Sevenfold. This song is undoubtedly one of the best songs they ever wrote. And I am pretty sure that this was the last song that The Rev wrote before he died. I love Avenged Sevenfold and have for years the music has definitely changed since the nightmare album and is the last error of having the sound that The Rev brought to Avenged. But to one of the greatest songs I believe ever written of all time. Rest in peace Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan

    Save Me was not supposed to be on Nightmare and the band added it post to The Rev’s death. The Rev told Matt that, Fiction was the last song on the album and that he was done, like with the album, that’s where they called it wraps. This song was added after The Rev’s death to add on to the songs they already had remembering him. Though many say this isn’t written about him, it is and has been stated before.

    I wonder if Shadows got singing lessons before/during city of evil. If you listen before then, he lacked the control and had an even more nasally tone. There are still a few aspects of his voice that make me think he didn't and he just figured himself out a bit more.

  • @jonhbill6060

    @jonhbill6060

    He actually did get vocal lessons around/during that time! He went through Ron Anderson to help him sing with grit. Which is why you'll notice his voice got a lot more gritty after Waking the Fallen. He had a bit of it in WtF but that seems to be natural, the grit on CoE is definitely produced with technique.

    I've always wondered why on warped tour 03, which was just after waking the fallen was released, they played a few songs from the first album and he screamed the way he did on the record for them which supposedly was wrong and the reason his screaming changed for WtF. That probably made no sense but basically if he changed his screaming why did he scream the old way for the old songs if it was wrong

  • @ExternusArmy

    @ExternusArmy

    10 жыл бұрын

    ThunderHawk606 It might've been for the sound, but it could also just be because it's more straining. There are demos prior to them 'training' with Murdock for WTF where his screams are like his STST screams. Murdock probably directed him to scream a different way to preserve his voice. Even before he blew out his voice, he refrained from screams live. There's a lot of 2002 footage where he changes screams to pitches to preserve his voice. But in all honesty, the answer is kind of hard to say.

    They all know They all know Sorry did I wake your dreams? Some questions are up to be We only only wake up when we sleep Left by the lunar light Troubles are all we find Lost our way tonight Is it something we said? Is it something we said to them? Is it something we said? Save me I'm trapped in a vile world Where the ending's all the same as every other We're only here to die Save me I'm losing my only dream I could use some guiding light Some place to go If you hear me let me know They all know They all know Ever since the day you left My fate's been set alone How many years to walk this path alone? So much to see tonight So why'd you close your eyes? Why can't I shut mine? Is it something we did? Is it something we did to them? Is it something we did? Save me I'm trapped in a vile world Where the ending's all the same as every other We're only here to die Save me I'm losing my only dream I can use some guiding light Some place to go If you hear me let me know If you hear me let me know Aaaah Help me find my way I said help me find my way No force inside of me Stone cold lips and help me see All lies into a degree Losing you I wanna be You'll find out I do He maybe out of his mind But some day you will find That sanity's left us all blind And dragged us all behind Of moment's seemed to go's eyes Crystal blue disguise They say that all beauty must die I say it just moves on If you'd only open your mind Then someday you will find Insanity's left us behind And walked right through the night I can see the picture's clear As yesterday pictures of my own I can hear the voice's begging you to stay But know you're not alone Save me, I'm trapped in a vile world Where the ending's all the same as every other We're only here to die Save me I'm losing my only dream I can use some guiding light Some place to go If you hear me let me know If you hear me let me know Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die young Tonight we all die Tonight we all die young
