Ave Maria Schubert Liszt Valentina Lisitsa

Музыка

The most beautiful and inspired melody ever written, isn't it? I don't feel any kind of video or visual is adequate for this music. Too much action , with hands flying all over the keyboard ( Liszt made sure it is one of the most difficult transcriptions - ever ) . To fully enjoy it , download a free MP3 at my Google Music store:
market.android.com/details?id...
Outside of US download here : tinyurl.com/7zz3ewc
If you feel creative, please go ahead and make better visuals - or just use it as a soundtrack for a self-made Christmas card, or share it with your friends as is... Enjoy - and Merry Christmas !!!!
The video was recorded a week ago , in Hannover - for "Liszt project", my attempt to recreate old style recording -- with final result being an fully analogue vinyl LP...
PS. Turns out Google music is not available for non-US users. I uploaded it on file-sharing and links are available at my twitter account ( ValLisitsa) and Facebook. or directly:
tinyurl.com/7zz3ewc
Sheet music is available at IMSLP here ( it is a beautiful first edition in public domain ):

My mother was bed ridden and had dementia and passed away this year. I played this to her a couple of months before she passed and she sat up and said ` that`s Ave Maria`. Thankyou for that memory.

oh my gosh...LOOK at her graceful hand movement...i see her fingers dancing like balarinas tiptoe'ing across the keys...I'm all teary eye'd now as I'm listening in total awe by her talents. ....oh my, how I wish my parents would have listened to me and others who thought i had talent when i was a little girl...over 60 yrs ago. the very first time i sat in front of a piano, i was 4 yrs old and I began playing made up melodies....everyone who heard me playing were all blown away by what I could do without ever having one single lesson...had never touched a piano before then...iit came out of me as if I'd had natural talent. I begged, begged, pleaded and cried for a piano and lessons....sadly my folks only thought of themselves and i was NEVER given music lessons, let alone a piano. My mom found a used chord organ when i was 5...i played non stop...making up songs, melodies... Most kids will just bang on a piano, then walk away...some children who "have it" will sit and play for hours like i did anytime i got near a piano...my folks got upset and angry as on the drive home I would cry, plead and beg for a piano and lessons...i left home very young...teenage pregnancy...my son was 3 yrs old when he began taking lessons. He is very gifted, talented and was given 12 yrs piano lessons...but over the years, my work, health and lack of confidence prevented me from doing what I've wanted my entire life... I began taking piano lessons this year on Feb 14 2018...the day my 6ft Boston Grand entered our home...was a gift from my husband to celebrate our 45 yrs marriage and also to console my broken heart by the death of my dearest, a lifelong friend, Lolita...was unexpected, my world and many others were shattered 4am Dec 19... I'm no longer talented...the tiny gift I did have as a young girl disappeared over the last 60 yrs but...I spend hours practicing.. about 3-4 hours but means I must make sacrifices. NO TV, no Facebook and not many friends unless is related to music. If any of you are parents of younger children...PLEASE do NOT hesitate in getting them into music...there's tons of free piano or $100s everywhere. I believe that ANYONE can afford to pay for your childs music lessons...I know this as fact as we made the sacrifices that enabled our children to learn music...we shopped garage sales, thrift stores for clothing, i drove a junker to work, and worked extra days anytime i could...even traded housework for our daughters piano and voice lessons. we NEVER ate out, NEVER spent a penny for coffee and no junk food....there's a lot of ways to save money...but if you're truly poor, cannot afford it and your child really does have talents, is gifted ASK a music teacher to discuss taking on a student at no charge...my teacher does same whenever a talented student cannot afford lessons...she donates her time...i know there are numerous foundations that will help pay for a childs lessons, but ONLY if they are talkented Most people gift their kids Playstations, Xbox, video games and iPhones they spend untold hours wasting time..its a disease! That stuff wasn't available when my kids were young over 40 yrs ago, but even if this were today...they wouldn't have them because i feel music is much better for them.... Learning music was a life-changing skill for all of us...they do NOT suffer depression or have issues like most kids now days... My son was only 9 yrs old when he played the Warsaw concerto.... .i don't regret having our kids deeply involved with playing PLaying, learning music is the best gift you can give your children as when they grow up their music will help them cope with their lives.. now all of my grandkids are deeply involved in music lessons, piano, instruments...things have changed for us financially and i'm now helping other children who want to take lessons...if they are serious and willing to practice without any excuses, i'm willing and able to get them a decent piano as well as pay for their lessons when parents have excuses saying can't afford it...but they can pay $8 for coffee every day... that is NOT a way to claim you can't afford to pay your child's music lessons...PLEASE do NOT ask me for help...i must know you personally and i'm not willing to be scammed by anyone.

Before she had a chance to say anything, I asked her to write her choice down secretly, and I did the same. With nothing said between the two of use, we looked, and both of us had chosen this piece. That to me said everything there is to say about this piece, and I am blessed to have listened to your performance of this timeless piece. Thank you Valentina.

Fernando Reyes Legato means smoothly, without any noticeable breaks in the notes. The melody, or melodic line, is the smooth notes mimicking the singer. To keep that “voice” smooth requires a lot of skill with how much your other fingers hate you doing their pulsing sounding thirds and twinkly arpeggios.
