Avatar: The Way of Water reaches new heights and explores undiscovered depths as James Cameron returns to the world of Pandora in this emotionally packed action adventure. Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water launches the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. All of this against the breathtaking backdrop of Pandora, where audiences are introduced to new Na’vi cultures and a range of exotic sea creatures that populate the majestic oceans. Nominated for numerous Academy Awards® including Best Picture, the James Cameron-directed film became the third highest-grossing box office film of all-time and set a new benchmark for visual effects. Produced by Cameron and his longtime partner Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet. Joining the illustrious adult cast are talented newcomers Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass and Jack Champion.

me too, out of all the possible things they can do with avatar outside of the main movies that is the one i want to see the most. maybe even an in-universe documentary that is supposedly made by the scientists on the base before the first movie takes place, or maybe something that the humans remaining behind on pandora made to make the nature of pandora more well known to earth humans and send to earth by radio and was picked up by radio observatories and distributed across the planet...

The VFX of this film are top notch . Avatar The way of Water is the best sequel ever made in my opinion . Great acting from the cast and top notch cinematography .
I absolutely loved the idea of having tulkuns in this movie as an actual characters with personality and backstory, instead of just making them pretty much like ikrans - bonding for the rest of their lives, understanding their raiders commends, but not *actually* comunicating with them. Especially Payakan and Lo'ak's friendship - it was just something that melted my heart. They were both outcasted, not because it was their own doing that led them to be alone, but because of being misunderstood. Although in my everyday life it's generally easy to make my cry over a movie or even a book i'm reading, but I've never seen anything so beautifull. The whole Metkayina clan and their connection to water and air and all the sea creatures...... It was just magical.

Which is making na'vi not the only intelligent species outside earth, which is kinda weird since this is the first time we see an intelligent species looks like entirely animal
@Aethuviel
7 ай бұрын
I just wish we had been given a tiny bit of information before Payakan was introduced. When Lo'ak started talking to him, I didn't understand why, since it's an animal, or, he's just being sweet thanking the animal that doesn't understand him. Then you get Payakan's subtitles, and Lo'ak knew he was speaking, but just couldn't understand. If we'd had just a few seconds of mention of the intelligent Tulkun people before, it wouldn't have caught people off guard like that.
As of 5 Feb 2023. Avatar 2 is the 3rd highest gloss film of all time !! 😊😊

@Edward Vincent Laybourn Waller nonetheless a 3D-Bluray release would be a sure thing. Even 1953's Robot Monster is coming out on 3D-Bluray this year! The audience is certainly there, they would be foolish to neglect that.

@Edward Vincent Laybourn Waller - those are all great to have, glad to hear you feel the same as I do! Robot Monster is a far sillier movie but a lot of fun in 3D. A lot of the classic 3D movies are celebrating their 70th this year and next, so look out for The Glass Web, Bwana Devil, and Southwest Passage coming to 3D-Bluray as well. Disney have no excuse, Way of Water is a tremendous 3D showcase and a brilliant movie. It's the best way, and for me the only way to watch it.

@Edward Vincent Laybourn Waller those titles don't have release dates yet, but are all confirmed. Should be some 70s/80s movies as well, and some modern titles from Random Space Media. Fingers crossed for Avatar.
Tulkun's look was perfect
Hats off to everyone who worked on both Avatar movies! Especially the creature designers... I noticed that the Tulkun are an amalgamation of multiple creatures: starting with a whale as a base design, and it has a lobster like tale, scales and antennae, and it's silhouette is close to that of a hammerhead shark... One of the many details I love about this movie and it's predecessor are how their creature's eyes are designed, they have two types of eyes within the same creature, both normal and herbivore eyes... When you see this movie, pay attention to the Tulkuns eye's, they have both a normal eye and an eye with a rectangular pupil similar to goats, sheep's, horses, etc... Same goes for the Banshees, Toruk Makto and other creatures in this world of Pandora! I'm an Avatar die hard fan! And this is one of the many things I love about these modern day masterpieces, these are exquisite details that I appreciate thanks to the amazing artists who put in all their blood, sweat and tears in order to make their extravagant artworks look and feel alive!
the tulkuns getting killed was so sad
Amazing movie! I already have it in HD
Ah yes the Tulkuns, the true leviathans of Pandora’s oceans, even the most ferocious marine predator the Akula doesn’t stand a chance against a fully grown Tulkun! Payakan literally rammed that Akula to save Lo’ak’s life

OMG!! THIS PAYAKAN 🤧💙
👏👏👏👏👏
James is the real movie maker
C'mon, give me a break, this movie is on another entire level.
We kinda already have something like that on Disney+. It's a nature doc called _Secrets of the Whales_ and it's narrated by Sigourney Weaver and James Cameron was the executive producer. James also has a little talking-head interview type bit at the end of each episode where he gives a little of his knowledge on certain whale species. But still, I would _DIE_ for a high-budget nature doc of the Pandoran wildlife narrated by either James or Sigourney.
It's amazing how much of the movie you're looking for what's fake. Everything is exquisite to behold.
Dear Mr Cole, are the tulkuns somehow related to the Hammerhead Titanothere? The large beast with the head crest
If there is no human on earth, these types of beautiful creatures were in real
