It was AWESOME 😎 we loved it! Every single second. As a sequel it was perfect as well, it hit every beat that the first did. The lore, the awe, the music vibes from the first, the montages of training, and the climax battle. It was everything I wanted! And couldn't praise it more. Love how it was about traditional family values with Jake and fatherhood decisions. Something we don't see a lot of in cinema lately so it was just so awesome! Great vid FilmSpeak! ✨

It was actually one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. The plot was so weak, the pacing was awful and there was no need for it to be 3 hours. Do not go see it in theaters, if you must watch wait until it releases on streaming services

I'm 43 and 33? When I saw the first one. I still cried like a baby 15 minutes in. Then about 5 other times during the movie, with awe moments lol! Shit was beautiful.

The story is heart warming as hell and the characters are more human and better written than 90% of the garbage that comes out these days. So much so, that by the end, the audience is on the edge of their seat and tearing up from emotion. You want mindless "pretty lights" go watch something by Marvel or DC.

It’s funny how people try to place their intellect on a pedestal by ragging on a genuinely good film like Avatar 2. “Simple story. No character development. Good visuals no substance.” Every time I see those buzz terms get thrown around the internet I just laugh. It’s genuinely frighteningly pathetic watching people make themselves look stupid trying to appear smarter than a movie. 90% of these people don’t even understand how writing cohesive narratives work. Avatar 2 was awesome. Fight me.😊

I hate when people say that the story is boring or uninteresting and that the characters are bad, because I damn near cried in the theatre when Jake and Neytiri saw Neteyam’s consciousness in Eywa at the end of the film. I was never huge on the story and characters in the first one even though it is one of my favorite movies, but this one actually made me care for them.

The characters were much better written! I loved how beautiful the movie was! In terms of story, i just didnt like how it was basically avatar 1. same formular was used. Didnt make the movie boring at all though. I remember being in cinema after those 3 hours genuinely wondering why it was already over :D

You know what might help people with the story issue? For reasons I do not know there was never written an OFFICIAL MOVIE NOVELIZATION. I had to struggle to follow certain plot aspects the first time I saw it (I am seeing it again and maybe a 3rd time) and a book (I would totally read it) can help with that and allow experiencing the story in a different form. A major concern I have is when a movie has what I call CLARK'S GLASSES VIOLATION. I made up that term because I could easily suspend my disbelief with Superman's powers and him being from another planet etc but was never buying that nobody could recognize him when he wears the glasses. Its a term I made up for something that does not make sense for the continuity of the story. A "Clark's Glasses" problem I have with this story is SPIDER. I am bothered by the retcon of Miles Quartich being his father. Never was he hinted at having a "romance" in the first movie and what self respecting human female would want to sleep with an ugly, evil @$$H0LE like him? Is he a rapist or something? But my big problem with the character is that life on that would could NOT work for him because he is a HUMAN BEING and is NOT "compatible" with the Navi and needs HUMAN FEMALES for obvious reasons. He will go insane if he does not have a HUMAN FEMALE (unless he is homosexual). He can have FRIENDSHIP AND COMPANIONSHIP with the Navi but they are a different SPECIES and he is a TEENAGER which means he REALLY NEEDS TO MEET SOME FEMALE HUMANS...

The entire movie was not boring, but clearly most people will mention the things picked up towards the end. There was a section where the story was not moving forward and got a bit stale and boring.

@@Zurround it was said in the movie, that spiders mum was one of the helicopter pilots that got killed during the last battle in the first movie. I dont think quaritch had a romance with anyone. Probably just some one night stands with female soldiers which is totally possible and plausible. And do you really think no one of these females would sleep with a high ranked military dude? We have women in our world who sleep with people like putin/Kim yon un and chamenei :D

That’s what I liked about this movie, the dialogues exchanged between the characters aren’t rushed. The emotions are raw, and the scenes are spectacular. Such a good movie.

"The emotions are raw" What would *you* know about that?? You're just superimposing your own *perception* on it. Yet you talk about it as if it's something good. Anger and hate are raw emotions. Are they good? "and the scenes are spectacular" Eye candy for those who are impressed by bright and shiny things. Tell me, can you name a single *cinematographer* ?? You don't? Then who are you to judge what is "spectacular" ? "Such a good movie." "I find this movie incredible." or even "This is the most amazing film I've ever seen." But "such a good movie" implies you think you speak for everybody else and that it's an objective fact. Stick to what you know. There are some movies that you watch in theatres, and even as you watch them, you know you’re seeing something transcendent. The first movie was not at that level, but this one really really is. We’re living in the age of armchair criticism, but just go see this for yourself. In the biggest format possible, it’s an absolutely incredible achievement.

The Alien and Terminator franchise both got "upgraded" in their 2nd movies with more amazing scenes and higher tech special effects and bigger budget and bigger scope of story. Seems like that has happened with Avatar too. However, Alien and Terminator both got weird and went downhill from 3rd movie on. Let's hope that this franchise does not suffer the curse of the number 3.

The thing I found most beautiful about this movie is that the children saved their parents instead of the other way around, even the villains

The entertainment industry has become so bloated and artificial as of late; this movie felt sincere and grounded in its characters and world. It's larger than life, and it's endearing and relatable. The plot/writing isn't Shakespeare, but it does everything it's trying to do flawlessly.

"The kids saving the parents" - SO SPOT ON! The children were the real focus of this film and this is definitely setting up their roles to grow in the sequels. Also, I am so damn excited to see Avatar Quaritch's story evolve! He was a 2-dimensional villain in the first film and in this sequel Stephen Lang killed it. I was so happy that he didn't die a second time because it opens so many opportunities for character development. Everything you said in this video put into words eloquently what I was thinking when I stepped out of the theater on New Year's Eve in a daze. Additionally, as an introvert and autistic, I identified so much with Kiri!

It's very immersive to the point, that with or without 3D, you feel as if you're swimming in the reefs of Pandora. It's amazing, especially with how the CGI looks hyper-realistic, but not to the point of being uncanny

You said it!! I saw the movie last week…and my god…for the people out there who said the CGI looked the same as the first movie, they’re missing out!!! While the first movie definitely has some breathtaking visuals, they don’t come close to the visuals of The Way of Water!! Some of the CGI from the first movie looks a bit dated IMO. But with The Way of Water, not only have the filmmakers succeeded in making water look photorealistic, but the texture of the characters along with the film’s lighting are SOOO lifelike!! In fact, the rendering of the characters and environments were so amazing that I actually forgot they were computer generated at several points during the film!! Three of many shots that just left me in absolute awe were >!Neytiri singing in front of a fire in her tree hut at the beginning of the film, Neteyam standing right outside the entrance to a hut in the Metkayina village, and Jake and Quaritch staring each other down before submerging themselves underwater inside the sinking SeaDragon!< When you see a character laugh or cry in this film, you can just feel their humanity!! From the raw emotion conveyed through their facial expressions to the lighting on their skin and hair, James Cameron REALLY outdid himself with this film!!!

Another shot that blew me away was Neytiri cutting a fruit in her beach hut. Yeah, I know it sounds like nothing, but when you see it, you almost want to reach out and touch it. It’s that convincing!!

This is the type of experience that cinema was MEANT to be. Such an Incredible landmark of a film, awe-inspiring in every sense of the word.

Honestly I don’t really mind the simplistic of the story, also I never get sick of them finding new way for the characters to connect with the nature especially in different regions of Pandora, also I’m a sucker for family dynamics which they really paid off well in the final act, also I think for some reason it’s more fun to watch these adventure stories from kids’ point of view, I guess that’s just the Stranger Things effect on me

they just should made a movie about avatars only, leave the humans out completely. Majority of plot holes comes from the human part in this movie anyway. Making it more documentary like would be more fun to expand on this universe. Give us something interesting... Instead we got non-sencical humans, copy/paste the literally same character as main villain and generic hollywood action scene at the end...

Epic film, don’t even have a single issue with this movie and already going back to watch it again. NEED 3 NOW!

@@kitten-whisperer I really pity you! You missed everything that this movie is, down to the tiniest details that contribute to the plot (I am sure you missed them, or you definitely would not have been bored!). Also, next time, try turning your emotional brain on!

I love how Cameron didn't cram Pandora's entire ocean into one movie. The way he focused on Tulkuns allowed me to learn their anatomy inside and out, their habitat, feeding habits, social behaviour, spiritual and cultural significance and even follow the personal journey of Payakan. He really took the time to make the audience understand and love more of Pandora through a deeper emotional experience.

Actually, both Tuk and Neteyam have 4 fingers like regular Navi. Its Loak who has 5 fingers like Jake, and Kiri like Grace. Its interesting that both Loak and Kiri have larger roles in the movie, both outcasts within their own families and people around them. Tuk and Neteyam never really got that outcast treatment.

Glad to see more people loving this movie it deserves all the praise. It's hands down my favourite movie of the year!

I'm gonna say it: this film really broke me after seeing it a second time especially of what the world expanded on Pandora. It broke me not just because of the ending of Neteyam's death but the feeling of letting go of someone and also having to feel like a disappointment Lo'ak said in the film. I loved this film this year even though Top Gun: Maverick and The Batman were spectacles. The family aspect is what I connected to especially because I almost lost my mom and sister through a car accident and what would happen if anyone would pass on through the afterlife with heaven. But its also about saving life on our ecosystem through the ocean or "The Way Of Water". I really enjoyed Miles Quaritch back in an Avatar body with his memories as well as the whole family aspect of the kids trying to adapt to the Metkayina clan. Also, Jake trying to protect his family brought what family really is compared to Fast & Furious. It just has many emotions you can feel in a film like this. 3-D is what made me want to see it! Well done James Cameron!

I just saw it and it was freaking awesome "James Cameron is the king of blockbusters." FACTS. He is able to make a huge, explosive, jaw droppingly epic film, while also making a deep, emotional and rich one at the same time. And he does both of these things to near perfection

I literally watched this on Saturday, and this honestly kept my attention the whole time despite the 3 hour runtime. I honestly loved this better than dune.

Dune was really good but I think what sets this film apart is that the 3 hours not only felt like 1 hour for me, but it left me actually wanting to watch more. Unlike Dune which had some slow parts for me which made me kinda feel tired after watching it. Also comparing it to JL Snyder cut, this movie’s pacing is way better for me as well. It had some slow moments but it was all just too beautiful and interesting that it just left you staring at the screen. Although there are quite a lot of plot holes, its just way too beautiful to not like man.

My only complaint is that the film could've used more time. Thematically speaking it is so incredibly rich and some of the themes are so worth the time on screen. I really hope that the 3rd can zero in on some of these super interesting themes and give them enough breathing room to take our breath away. I'm probably biased but damn i love these movies so incredibly much

Thanks for saying how magical it is. it truly was an experience that I can't quite describe but it felt BEAUTIFUL and my soul was filled with warmth and amusement. I am glad to see Neytiri, i had a crush on her since the first time I watched Avatar 1 on 3D. Man, I'm in love.

I'm now a cynical, nihilistic middle-aged man and I unironically ugly cried no less than three times during the runtime. I love it. It was inspiring, everything a movie can and should be.

I was 10 when I first saw the original in theaters. I’m 23 now and this movie was everything I wanted it to be and so much more. I’ve seen it in theaters 4 times already and ball my eyes out every time. This movie is insanely amazing. I truly wish I can meet James Cameron to thank him for everything he has done to not only inspire me but so many people. This movie is beyond fantastic

Honestly it’s the best movie I’ve ever seen in my entire life! It was such a good movie and it had so much emotion! The movie felt so real and I cried 6 times watching it.

I too suspect Quaritch will turn over time; this is definitely one of the more interesting subplot arcs. One thing that keeps me up at night is the thought of Wainfleet now riding Ikran! Kanom hol... ayu? Kanom hol ayu!

I was 12 years old when this movie came out. I remember the first time I saw the trailer. I didn’t have access to the Internet so I didn’t know they was such a large group of people who love this movie as much as I did. I watch this movie hundreds of times growing up. Truly one of the most impactful films of my life. 13 years later I’m married I have a wife and a son. And I go to see avatar and I was hit by the reflection of myself I saw in Jake Sully. This movie is perfection to me.

Honestly I was really strong in the cinema when we saw what happened to their oldest son, I was sad of course but I was determined not to show any emotions, but OH BOY, the ENDING SCENE had me crying a bloody river!! Like the tears couldn't stop. It's one of the most emotional scenes I think I've ever witnessed and everything was so raw and beautiful that I felt so overwhelmed. It was truly a work of art!

I LOVED The Way of Water so much. I loved that it continues the story despite it being further down the line than where we last saw Jake and Natiri. The little snippets of their life together as the leaders of their tribe was a good way of showing us what went on. I loved that the (personal to me) residual anger for the sky people came back when they were reintroduced into the story. I loved the settings still gave us, the audience, the sense of awe of the world we have yet to fully explore. Yes we vaguely touched up on the various areas in the first movie, but we never got to get as in depth than the massive forest from the first movie. The vastness of the ocean and the many creatures that inhabit them just made it feel so real. The tribes that lived on the islands are charming and very unique in their own way. The fact they were more of a greenish blue to blend into the water during the day shows the diversity of the people and the adaption into their environment. There is just so much more about the movie I could gush about all day, however that would turn this comment into a full on novel at this point. I'll just end it here, and just say that James Cameron did a fantastic job at showing his love for the ocean and the people that live in that type of environment. His passion showed so much in this movie that he outdid himself entirely compared to the first movie. I would love to see more of the world of Pandora, one vast environment at a time.

This movie touched me to the core. I love James Cameron and his team for giving us back, or showing us again the value of life and how to see the beauty of life around us, all in a blockbuster film. It really shows what we really want in films, deeper connections with others and ourselves, not escapism, but deeper connections.

I didn't cry in Avatar 1 but I cried in The Way of Water.

I cried all over the first one , but I didn't expect a sequel to be so emotional too. I guess it was all the water. Anyway, it's better to cry in a theatre than when you need to pee. At least you don't miss anything that way while getting rid of your liquids.

I'm so glad it did so well. Even though it was 3 hours and 10 minutes, it went by so quickly and I didn't want it to end! The graphics are amazing, the world-building, the characters, relationships, etc. I watched the first one when I was 6, and now after 13 years of waiting, I am happy to say it was worth it. Can’t wait for more

So I’ve seen this masterpiece 3 times now. Once with my little brother, once by myself, and my last viewing was with my dad. Now I did cry each time watching this but watching it with my dad, who’s 50 and I’m 25, was something else. He genuinely cried and I’ve never seen him do that because of a film. He kept saying jokingly that he “hated James Cameron” for making him tear up lol.

I think you got the "No killing" rule slightly wrong. It's not the Metkayiana but the Tulkun that have this law, which is why Payakan is an outcast. This is also why the Tulkun don't fight the whalers. Not because they're peacful and want to be left alone, but because they have a deeply held philosophical belief that killing is another sentient species is morally reprehensible for any reason. Good call. I loved how the chief of the Metkayina described the Tulkun and their belief system. It's like he was forcing everyone to hear his campfire story

So I’ve seen part 2 twice lol. Just rewatched the first one last night and here’s my takeaway. The pacing and story development is better in the first. The entire intro and first 10-20 minutes of Avatar is still amazingly well done, even after 13 years. It sets up the world and story and characters nicely. Part 2 feels rushed in the beginning compared to the first. Part 1 surprisingly still holds up CGI and the jungles scenes are still mind-blowing. Actually the whole movie is still visually a masterpiece. I did notice a difference with the Navi. Yes, absolutely in part 2 they look far more realistic! I’ve seen part 1 dozens of times and this was the first time ever that I actually noticed how the Navi look out of place, and even during some of the day scenes I did notice the CGI “lines” that I’ve never noticed before. Part 2 has none of that. Part 2 is the best looking film I have ever seen. Overall I love everything James Cameron has been involved in. Love this franchise!

Yeah, I like the character development better on the first, butt this second one is reaally freaking good as well!

This video needs to go viral. I just know the sequels will get better and better.

I am watching this movie again as soon as I can! I walked out of the theater sobbing because of what happened to the Sully family, but the end wasn't entirely sad. It was bittersweet, looking back on the past with joy instead of grief. I have a feeling that Lo'ak will be the future of the Sully family, and possibly for the Na'vi in their fight against the human invaders (they made it personal for Lo'ak in their quest for the new "liquid gold" found within the whales, who has a deep personal connection to one of them). I also have a feeling that Kiri is born with a spiritual connection to Ewa, like a mediator between the physical world and the spiritual world. This could be because Ewa took Grace into her arms when Grace passed away from the bullet wound in the first film, and this miraculous conception was Ewa's doing in order to continue Grace's legacy out of gratitude for her devotion to the Na'vi (just a thought. What do you think about Kiri's role?). I will watch this movie again and pay attention to more details so I can better understand where the future films are headed.

Yeah so true hey! Me and my gf were thinking that Kiri was like Grace reincarnated in a way. Or she is even "eywa" in human form (well Na'vi form) but yeah it is like a spiritual thing that she has powers to control the flow of life. I think she will be a huge player in the final battle for Pandora in the next few movies where she can verse the humans in the war for the planet. It'll be something realllllll epic

I teared up when Jake finally told Lo'ak that he sees him. It was so emotional

My big problem with the movie was Spider. What was going on with him?? His motivations were very under-established and the story could have benefitted from that being a lot clearer.

I'm sure he will be fleshed out more in later films. He seems to be a fan UN-favorite so far... Watching this movie review actually made me realize something though. The way many of us in the audience see him, it's the same way that Neytiri seems him. He is just awkward, why is he here? A "stray cat" just like Jake said. I am thinking that this was intentional though, and James Cameron has something bigger in store for him in later movies.

The concept of Quaritch resuscitation is so interesting that could give for a movie...

Great video essay, you really get the soul of these movies! This movie is an absolutely remarkable achievement on so many fronts. The underwater scenes are the most beautiful thing I've seen and the script is incredible. I felt more connection to a sentient alien whale than anything else in media. I LOVED the depiction of Jake/Toniwari as father figures and husbands.

I need part 3 like NOW.....I loved this film so damn much, totally 1000000% agrees on everything you say here.

All I can say about TWOW is 4 words: Well worth the wait

I really cant take these comments seriously unless you havent watched the first because if you just try to look at the difference of movies of 1 and 2 its the same! Jake goes to a tribe learns their ways and defeats a baddie but this time with family. James had 13 years!! And he delivered a story thats basically a copy to the first but with more water!!

@@Kelly-cd3gb I was working at our Cineplex when the first film was released. Jake is the main character of this story. Quaritch is his most direct adversary. Is there similarity in the plot yes because they're written by by the same writer directed by the same director and stirring the same actors. And since the writer in the director are very much environmentalist a pro environmentalist message is definitely what these films are. The first was about clear-cutting and logging, this seems like a pretty big allegory towards whaling. One key difference is that by marrying Ne'tryi, he became the leader of the omaticaya. He wasn't seeking leadership of the Mitkinaya. All he was seeking was a new place for him and his family to be where they could be away from being hunted by Quaritch. But your surface-level analysis is maybe a d level so I'd say around 50% if you were being graded about it. And as a matter of record before I went to go see TWOW I watched the extended edition of the first film annoyingly mind you but I still watch the first film in order to refresh my memory about the world of Pandora before going and watching the sequel.

And remember it only took Maybe 2 to 3 months before you had people complaining about how it was Dances with Wolves but with blue people. Hate the popular thing unfortunately is a well-worn Trope at this point and it gets so droll and boring. I wouldn't put too much stock into what kelly is saying. Solid video essay, my guy. Definitely not many takes like this online that are willing to wear their heart on their sleeve with such a bold analysis. All the themes you address are exactly why this movie succeeds beyond the technical execution of its visuals. There is indeed a deeper layer to it that many supposed film fans don't want to recognize because it isn't specifically spelled out for them in "explain it to me like I'm five and wearing my Marvel jammies" format. Very well done!

This is the most beautiful movie ever made. The visuals were absolutely mind blowing and the story was much better than the original. Also the action mixed with the emotion towards the end makes this one really special. 10/10

Exactly. I loved their relationship because it gave more depth to Quaritch's character and it showed that he is also able of compassion. I really hope we're going to see more of them in the future movie.

That was the subplot, next to Kiri's, that intrigued me the most. I'm a sucker for a good antagonist, and Stephen Lang brought so much complexity to this new version of Quaritch. He as such a fascinating character and I loved all the scenes with him and Spider. I can't wait to see what the next films hold for him!

I don care what people says but for me Avater and Avater 2 the way of water are the best cinema experience

Thus film is definitely in the top 3 for this year, maverich number 1, the batman number 2 then this as a close 3. It is absolutely phenomenal

I know it was so sad when she said the her spirit sister (the whale) waited many mating seasons to have her calf because she wanted to have a child the same time as her. T-T

I think this movie made the connection between life and death especially concerning a certain character, much better in this movie than in the last movie. The ending of this movie made it so evident and brought what they teach to life in a way the previous movie never did: “The way of water has no beginning and end The sea is home before birth and after death The sea gives and the Sea takes Water connects all things Life to death, Darkness to light” That being the main context made it hit so much harder when knowing everything that happens in the movie. I love how it shows us that no mater what, even if we loose someone important to us, it is all connected and we don’t have to be consumed by biter grief as we are all connected. It was sooo beautiful! (^ ^)

My main and only gripe was that my girl Neytiri got sidelined but I liked the other characters too

I loved the first movie but for the second one I felt so emotionally connected to it, I'm about to see it again. I expected to dread the movie since its three hours long but it felt like an hour even a day after seeing it I felt so nostalgic about the film

I see so many people talk about everything that isn't perfect in this movie and everyone is constantly complaining... Now *this* is very refreshing to watch, thank you

They do an insane job of creating a believable family. I have four little boys and the way that they interact is just like the way that Sully’s kids interact. There are some parts of this movie that are insane. They couple that with gripping emotion. I cried like a baby a couple of times.

3 hours didn't even feel that long. The movie can keep you focused for that, while you also enjoy it every minute of it.

Exactly! You've said it! Some people are complaining about the length...but just as yourself, the movie takes its time , letting you bask in their world and enjoy the simple humane activities of the people living their lives. This movie is so beautiful because quality like this is going extinct in Hollywood.

The tulkun hunt and harvest scenes were the hardest for me to watch -- I was unsuccessfully fighting back tears.. I wanted to bawl! and yell "How can you?? ..how can we?" it is so true that Cameron holds a mirror to how we as humans are treating this planet and the life on it. albeit a visually splendid, and amazing cinematic mirror.. Your review was very good! kudos for a job well done!

My family and I, including our 3 boys, loved the movie. We all saw it tonight and think it's way better than the 1st Avatar movie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One thing I very much APPRECIATE about this movie is that they showed us different ETHNICITIES of Navi with different physical features even though they are still the same SPECIES. Too often in science fiction the aliens of a certain race all look the same. Not EXACTLY the same but the same "ethnicity". There are SOME exceptions like the African American actor as a Vulcan in Star Trek voyager and the "albino" Klingons in Star Trek Deep Space 9 but almost always in science fiction each alien race pretty much looks all the same as each other. It is ABSURD to me how they keep making all the aliens of a race look the same. Imagine if someone from another world were to come to Earth and ALL of us were CAUCASION?? Look at how frigging different a "gentleman" from ENGLAND looks from a dark skinned African or an Australian aborigine or a Native American. But they are ALL THE SAME SPECIES. Having different ETHNICITIES was AWESOME and I want to see MORE. On Earth there are MANY different races of human. Maybe in the next movie there can be a tribe with skin so dark blue that it is almost black and a tribe so light blue it is almost white. Maybe a tribe of "pygmy" Navi that are short (compared to the average of the species, still taller than most humans, maybe their average height could be 8 feet instead of 10 feet but maybe they would be buffed and built more like body builders).

Great retrospective and understanding of the hidden messages! This movie was really amazing, it's been 4 days since I have seen it in 3D and I just can't stop thinking about it. What a world and characters, the entire Avatar team really did an superb job. Do yourself a favor and go watch in the cinema, it's money and time well spent.

I didn't expect much from this movie, because the first Avatar wasn't that great in my opinion (without the magnificent world the story itself would've been boring), but this is the best film I've seen in years!

I really hope that the Avatar series gets the pop culture spotlight for the coming years, I love Marvel but I'd like something different for a while

Saw the premier in 3D dolby cause i’m an audio nut but when I tell you my 2nd experience watching in IMAX completely blew me away even after having already seen the movie, knowing the big moments and all, wow. IMMERSIVE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. I’ll be returning to my nearest imax theatre this weekend again 😂😂😂😂

Spider: Did you die? Quaritch: Sadly yes. BUT I LIVED.

I watched it today and even after I got home I still feel like crying. Is like I want to connect to the earth in the same way they do in Pandora but I know that level of connection is impossible and realizing I also can’t protect it is so heart breaking. It makes me feel disgusted for being a human because now I have a perspective on how the animals of this earth, the whole fauna and ecosystem of the world feel. Is like my head feels so clear but so sad at the same time I don’t know how to explain the feelings this two films have left me with. Truly amazing.

The haters can say what they want, and people are completely allowed to not like this film (no harm done by that opinion) . . . but I highly doubt *The Way of Water* ended up being the 3rd Highest Performing Movie Ever by being "boring" or "bland"

I really like that this is a 100% James Cameron movie in every way. - Importance of Motherhood and Parenthood (like in Aliens, Terminator 2 and even True Lies) - The fish out of water element (like he did in Terminator 1) - The criticism of Colonialism and War (Aliens, The Abyss) - Even the most claustrophobic aspects from Titanic are present

You are in your right to say that you didn't liked the movie or that it wasn't for you, but you can't say that a movie that made someone feel all of this is a bad movie. I've watched it twice, and in both cases I saw and heard people in the theater laughing, gasping, crying, screaming, clapping... a bad movie can't touch so many people in shuch different ways. I know it's not perfect, it doesn't have the most deep storyline or the most jawdropping plot twists, but the movie doesn't need that. This movie has heart, and passion, James Cameron waited 13 years because he wanted The Way of Water to look as best as possible because he truly loves the world he and his team created. And I respect all of that.

Just came back from my 2nd viewing in IMAX and I loved it even more the second time. Will definitely go at least one more time, but I'll probably watch it at least 4 times total. Still waiting for The Abyss 4K, but wouldn't it be awesome if they gave it another run in the cinema?

Bro THANK YOU. All these youtube movie reviewers saying it's just CGI porn with a boring story is SO ANNOYING. This movie was so good! They all sound so sad and pretentious. Like, do they only watch a movie to point out it's faults? Why not enjoy it for what it is ? None of them bring up all these deep themes you bring up. They just say it's the exact same as the last movie with better visuals.

why this video is so PERFECT?? It's the first time I hear somebody else in the review talking about Quaritch and Spider's relationship. I'm like 100% sure that there were more scenes of them kinda having father-son moments, but it was cut out. Your analysis, and this of Quaritch in particular, is brilliant! Loved it!! This movie is, just like the first film, an experience in life that feels larger than a regular movie at the cinema. I rewatched the second movie just a day ago and it was even better since you know the family already. I found myself crying at so many places simply because of the relationship that has been shaped with the Sullys.

When quarich speaks to him in the cell where spider is held. He says that they’re one in the same. Kinda lets u into what he was thinking I’m glad they kept that scene in.
