Ang channeled the spirit of the ocean spirit which was mad that its moon spirit counterpart was killed. Also not just the elements kept their color, but the princesses eyes did aswell, hinting that she still had some of thr spirit within her.

I noticed about her eyes when I was editing the episode. A very nice touch!

Something interesting to note is that after fusing with the ocean's spirit, Aang attacks by pushing out water.... but doesn't pull it back. That's because the moon is what gave benders the power to pull back water, but its spirit was just killed, so that was the result. Damn that Zhao.... Oh, and we actually saw Zuko's sister in an earlier episode! She was in his flashback from The Storm (ep 12). She had a shit-eating grin watching her brother's face get burned by their father. Not hard to see who daddy's favorite is, huh? 🙄

I have heard that the writers completely forgot about Hahn's secret mission and had to add him getting unceremoniously dumped overboard in at the last second, and then Zhao with the *wipes hands*, "As I was saying..." LOL

koh only had a short appearance on this show but it is one of the iconic creatures on this show just because of his original concept.

I remember reading something that some really big Japanese anime or manga artist praised Koh as being "one of the greatest animated creatures ever designed" or something like that

We met zuko sister very very briefly in the episode the storm you can see her smiling as uncle iroh turns away when zuko gets burned by his father

13:30 Aang had merged with the spirit of the ocean and on its way to back to the spirit oasis, it grabbed Zhao and pulled him under. 14:27 Correct on both counts, and what great characters they are too.

Fun Fact: Yuè (月) means moon.

Zhao was pulled into the water by the ocean spirit as punishment for killing it’s partner, the Moon. You’ll also notice that when Aang merged with the Ocean spirit, they were only pushing the water, not pulling.

The red coloring for the moon indicates a lunar eclipse. The moon spirit was removed from the water but still alive, just unable to fulfill “itself”, it’s purpose. The literal and proverbial “fish out of water”.

have people noticed, that water tribe warriors are considered like a pack of wolves, that would make sokka a wolf too, so hes basically the wolf that fell in love with the moon. And yeah Princess Yue was basically just the moon spirit inside a human body

Wah I never made that connection about wolves, even though they literally talked about it in the Junr episode. Lol Wild what I can still learn about the show-

More hints that Iroh is more than just the comedy relief. "Whatever you do to that spirit, I'll unleash on you tenfold! Let it go, NOW!"

so glad you finally got to the end of season 1. This season finale gives you the first real taste of how emotional and mature this show can be (there are a few other episodes sprinkled through season 1 that do too but y'know. major feels this episode)

It took a while, but we got here!

Zhao found out about the Ocean (Tuī, the Push, Yang, the Dark) and Moon (Lā, the Pull, Yin, Light) Spirits in an ancient underground library, and 'realised' it was his destiny to slay them. Everything went greyscale except for Yue's eyes which stayed mysteriously blue.. Aang was possessed by Tuī, the Ocean Spirit.

Zuko❤️ try to save zhao even after he tried to kill him that show zuko is so kind even to his enemy

Can't wait for you to meet his earth bending master, such a powerful bender. So much too come. This episode was was a good warm up for the seriousness of this war. Heart strings will be pulled many times.

Nah I didn't watch avatar until I was 30 and it's really one of the best things I've ever seen. I initially checked it out because it kept coming up in memes and it turned out to be a great idea. Season 2 and 3 are way better than season 1 and are going to make you question whether this is really for kids.

It's the moon. Waterbenders get pumped up under the moon....look at the shots of them fighting...it emphasizes the full moon.

I will say it multiple times i love iroh one badass mo fo, The spirt world looks so fascinating, also the animation during this episode was so amazing

I didn't watch it when I was young as it didn't exist then, but I watched it when it came out with the love of my life and we enjoyed it very much.

Great season finale for a great first season! And this show gets even better, believe it or not. We see the end(?) of one of the villains, and we are introduced to a new one (Zuko's sister), and an old one (Koh The Face Stealer), but exactly how much impact they'll have remains to be seen. The color palette work on this episode is top-notch, as is how they balance and intertwine all of the different characters and their story lines; everyone gets their share of the highlight reel, even Han, the Fighting Fiancee Failure (maybe, in his case, it should be called a lowlight reel instead of a highlight reel...😅) The ending is sad, but still hopeful, with our crew heading off to their new challenge, finding an Earthbending Master. There's already a potential candidate in Aang's old friend (emphasis on "OLD' 😁), King Bumi of Omashu, a truly powerful Bender, but could there be any other candidates? Let's find out together, in Book Two; see you there!

the reason aang found his body again so easily was because of Hei-bei [: he blasts aang with an energy beam lol

You mentioned it in one of the past videos, but I really dislike spoilers too. Even when people say "get ready" for this and that. Even when they're not telling specifics, like you said they're spoiling your genuine reaction. People man lol. Just following your journey through the show. I'm glad you're having fun.

Speaking of trying to grow your channel, I'm surprised it isn't already much bigger than this. I guess you're only a couple dozen reactions in, over here, but there are much bigger reaction channels I find far less interesting, and I would've thought spillover from your video game channel (even if it's very modest) would've given you more of a leg up. Honestly, sometimes the popularity of channels seems complete arbitrary. I admittedly enjoy the size you're currently at, because it means that I can comment and expect people to actually see it (rather than it being instantly buried, pages down in the midst of hundreds of other comments), and it feels more special, like seeing a band play in small club as opposed to a huge arena, but at the same time, the very fact that I enjoy your reactions means that I want others to appreciate them as well, and I obviously wish you success. I feel like you have all the elements you need, so I expect that success (as measured in dramatic, or at least significant popularity growth) to be forthcoming, unless fate and KZread's algorithm conspire to screw you over, but what do I know? Having more than a thousand people watch some of your videos seems pretty impressive to me, when considered on an absolute scale, but obviously big channels pull in a lot more people than that, and I'm sure that's when you start making actual, real money. I'm not quite sure why I'm yammering on like this (I'm probably mostly just bored), but I should probably call it here, while I still have the good sense to. I look forward to seeing what you think of season 2, and please keep up the good work.

Thank you for your kind words! I suppose many of those larger channels have probably been around for a decent amount of time, and this one is still fairly new. Maybe I'm just bad at SEO! Only time will tell where this will go, though! I am having too much of a good time to give up, so I won't be stopping anytime soon! The fact that I have to still work my day job makes it hard to put out videos faster, though.. and I do think that is/will be a factor in stifling my growth somewhat. But if I can monetize this channel and it can grow.. then maybe...... maybe I won't have to work there anymore. Then I could post lots!

I love your reactions ;) And I know it doesn't' have anything to do with avatar but I just wanted to say about your aliens reaction : - It's funny that you mentioned newt's slide in the ventilations because the young actress herself failed her attempts several times just for the pleasure to do the slide multiple times -Bishop is actually not dead and can be repaired (this is why they put him in a freezing pod just like newt and hicks) You should definetly react to terminator 1 & 2 (and try to find the extented cut for terminator 2 because it's the same thing as aliens) both made also by James cameron and they're horror type of movie but with some action elements just like aliens. Also, the actor who played hicks (ripley's love interest) and bishop in aliens were cast in them (will you recognize them ? ^^). And I think you sould definetly react to both alien 3 and alien 4 resurrection, don't listen to the comments they're actually good (their only crime is not to be as good as the first two). Yes, the third is depressing but I mean it's the alien franchise not "my little poney" The most interesting part is they were made all by a different director each which made them all unique with different artistic direction and themes. If you'll react to them : try to get the "assembly cut" for alien 3 and the "extented cut" for alien resurrection. And so sorry for my bad english though :)

Katara couldn't have healed the moon spirit. All Waterbenders lost their abilities once it was removed from the pond. The Avatar state usually channels ALL his past lives, that's why we hear him speak in many voices at once. Here, he additionally combined his power with that of the ocean spirit to avenge the moon spirit and save the water tribe. The only time when a single past live takes over control is when you see him transform into a spirit image of that past live, like with Roku during the winter solstice.
