Iroh raises his voice twice in this series, when defending the Moon Spirit, and when telling Zuko to find his own destiny.

@@devincredible3466 Zuko would have undoubtedly frozen to death in the north pole without the help of avatar team. Its difficult for him to accept how far his reckless pursuit of the avatar drove him, and how much he put it above his own wants and desires

So glad you put in the whole scene with Iroh and Zuko; in my opinion it's one of the best scenes in the entire series, and some of Mako's best work. As usual super excited for the next episode.

In Jet's flashback you see him giving food that he stole from the captain back to the refugees which really emphasizes his good character

Iroh's speech was one of the many moments in Airbender that set it apart from any other show of its ilk. Iroh practically calls out the "villain of the week" mentality that plague's Zuko's decision making, short term choices that only lead to his losing. Zuko has the most character development than any other character on the show, and that's saying something. Most importantly, he loses, he fails, over and over, with each victory soon being met with loss. He suffers and makes mistakes, but becomes a stronger and more honorable man than anyone else.

It would've been cool if Jet survived and stuck with the gabg. Things would've gotten interesting when Zuko eventually joined. Once they got over their differences, I can see them having brotherly like bond. Like Jet had said when they first met, "we make a good team". And I think they do as well

9:50 I liked the Loki/Hulk moment between Long Feng and Appa, where he's just like "I can handle you myself" being all cocky, and Appa just catches him and throws him.

As incredible and complex as Zuko's character is, that one line from Iroh: "Is it your own destiny? Or is it a destiny someone else has tried to force on you?" describes his character development throughout the entire show perfectly.

The Zuko/Iroh scene always gives me chills because of Iroh yelling at Zuko ...You know you fucked up when Iroh's yelling at you like that (0.0) I love it when Team Avatar and the Freedom Fighters team up. They work so well together! Poor Jet...IMO he redeemed himself in the end Yayy for reunion

Longshot was originally going to point at Jet to put him out of his misery. Nickelodeon executives saw that and ordered them to change it last-minute. They didn't want to show a good guy killing another good guy.

Jet was kind of a douche BUT his story is pretty damn tragic. He dedicated his life to fighting the fire nation but in the end it was his own nation, the Earth Kingdom, that ended up killing him. That really hits you in the feels man.

Appa and Aang together again is such a refreshing moment after the last episodes! The team work in this episode during that fight was one of my favorites moments in the show. And the talk between Iroh and Zuko was just amazing and powerfull! Thank you for the reaction, guys!

That delivery and emotion by Iroh's voice actor deserves Oscars!!!

This episode… This episode is just the best with all the character development and plot progression. The scene where Iroh talks sense into Zuko might be his best scene. I remember how happy fans were when Zuko was having a change of heart back when this 1st premiered. I really enjoyed all the fights. Pretty much up to this point Jet's assumed death was pretty much the most shocking thing on the show at least for me. Also even though you seem to hate all the villains on this show do you at least think they are great villains?

When Zuko shouted and dropped his sword and mask, that gave me chills

"Jet's in hot guy heaven".

Oh wow, you guys are amazing at analysing and speculation, which... might sound like a weird compliment, but really, especially Eric, just taking in all kinds of details and creating solid theories and assumptions. It's awesome.

It's episodes like this that truly make one fully confirm and believe that Avatar the last airbender is a masterpiece

Haha, the MMO thing. A few months ago when I was rewatching Korra I had a dream I was playing an Avatar MMO, and it was exactly the classes they said--Firebenders were ranged DPS, Earthbenders were tanks, Waterbenders were Healers with a bit of Controller, Airbenders were straight Controllers, nonbenders were melee DPS. Unrelated to that: god, the run of episodes starting with "Tales of Ba Sing Se" is SO GOOD.

"The Painted Lady was about Katara embracing her inner Yang. The Blue Spirit was about Zuko trying to conceal his inner Yin." - Think about this....

jet kind of serves as a foil to zuko; both are similarly aged teenage boys who have been damaged by the fire nation and lost their parents (ozai isnt dead but he isnt in zukos life, so hes pretty much lost both), both are driven by hate and rage, and both have some "good guy" qualities in them. what happened here to jet is what will happen to zuko if he continues down this path of rage. edit: also the "zuko has been brainwashed to feel this way about the avatar"...holy shit i never thought of that. thats actually a great thought and also reinforces the idea that they are foil characters.

Iroh: "It's time for you to look inward and begin asking yourself the big questions." Kosh: "Who are you?" Mr. Morden: "What do you want?"

Floris Kunst This is one of my favorite episodes of the series. I love the Zuko and Iroh moment, the action is some of the best in the series, and Jet is actually a cool character.

nick is pretty lax too the creators themselves just didn't want to take it too far on their own account. nick didnt let this one slide cause its a kid dying. nick let far worse slide in korra. though you're right, cartoon network is the best kids network to go to, to have more freedom. disney is the worst, nick is the second best.

I always saw Longshot drawing an arrow on Jet's death as a reference to Robin Hood's death. When Robin Hood died, the story goes he shoots one last arrow from his bow and asked to be buried where it fell.

The Calvin's quick glance towards the fans watching the video right after everyone cheered when Appa appeared.

That Iroh and Zuko scene is one of the best in the show. It is scenes like that take what could be an ordinary kids show into an extraordinary, legacy-type show for all ages! Just perfect!

The one and only time Iroh ahs raised his voice with Zuko, and it happened because he couldn't just stand by and watch Zuko ruin his own life anymore.

Oh my god, that pure JOY from Blind Wave when Appa finally flew back on screen, lol - and that bloodthirsty rage for literally everyone who hurt Appa is 10/10, ahahaha I fucking love it lol

Season 2 went by sooo fast

I always found Jet, Smellerbee and Longshot to be very interesting characters. Too bad they didn't return in Korra. I also wanted to know Smellerbee and Longshot's back stories, too. And..if there was romance between them, because they had cute moments together! He put his arm around her once and as a kid I fangirled ;) They did appear more in the comics, though. They weren't killed. Smellerbee did become the new leader for the Freedom Fighters. Avatar Extras hinted at Smellerbee and Longshot being a couple.

I believe when Longshot pulled out that arrow and aimed it down the chamber, it was similar to another fighter for freedom named Robin Hood. Robin Hood marked where he'd be buried while on his death bed by firing and arrow from where he was laying in bed out a window, and where the arrow landed is supposedly where he was buried. I imagine that's what happened at that last frame of Jet and his Freedom Fighters.

Eric nailed that finale prediction.
