A short reminder since it seems like you might have mixed it up a little: Azula does not only use lightning bending. She mostly uses fire bending, but her fire is blue, which indicates that it is very hot. The series portrays it so that channeling lightning needs a bit of time to set up and is probably not that easy to use spontaneously. So Azula mostly relies on her blue fire in combat, the lightning is only used occasionally. Mai and Ty Lee are very interesting characters, I like that you pay a lot of attention to them, even though they are "just" Azula's sidekicks. I believe Ty Lee did not just join Azula to protect the circus but also to protect herself. You may remember that Azula made Ty Lee's act in the circus a lot more dangerous and Azula definetly threatened Ty Lee that her next performance would be even more dangerous if she would not follow Azula's call. Azula, as you have observed, is a very powerful and dangerous person. I can imagine that Ty Lee was thinking that it would be better to be on her side then to have Azula as an enemy. Nevertheless, I do think that Ty Lee also has some kind feelings towards Azula. As you have seen in "Zuko alone", Ty Lee and Mai have played with Azula when they were little, they probably grew up together and know each other pretty well; so in the first moment, I believe that Ty Lee was genuinely happy to see Azula. It feels like the relationships between these three girls are pretty complicated.

Oh, I see you beat me to the punch when it comes to Azula's fire vs. her lightning. This seems to be a surprisingly common misconception, if reactors are anything to go by.

@Stuff You Otter Listen To its because lightning is always blue in this, and every other firebender uses red fire. While the reason her lightning is blue is to distinguish her from Zuko when they fight, a lot of people miss it.

@@epicurius1 Actually, if you go back and rewatch "The Storm", the lightning that Iroh redirects in it has a bit of a yellowish tinge. Some other lightning in the same episode does as well, while some looks closer to pure white. Interestingly, when we see the flashback to when Aang gets thrown into the sea before freezing himself for a hundred years, the lightning looks pure white in "The Storm", but yellow tinged in "The Boy in the Iceberg". At the end of "Bitter Work", the lightning in the storm that Zuko is inviting to strike him is, however, blue-tinged. Meanwhile, without giving away any spoilers, let me say that the exact same person's lightning looks pure white in one instance, and blue in another. All of this goes to say that the color of lightning is very inconsistent, and there was no set pattern of blue they needed to follow for Azula.

@@epicurius1 it may be blue, but it still should be easy to distinguish based on its animation and its sound. Lightning always causes an actual thunderclap. Flames sound different, and look different than forks of lightning. I've noticed a lot of react channels seem to make this mistake, too. Even AFTER "The Chase", when Katara explicitly calls it "crazy blue firebending".
It's not lightning. Azula's fire is blue. When she's bending lightning, it crackles, it requires a windup, it's all jagged lines instead of bursts of flame, and there's a muted thunder sound effect (while the fire has more of a woosh). I guess they wanted blue to be thematic for Azula, but I think you're the third reactor who I've seen confuse her fire and lightning, so they obviously should've done more to delineate the two.

Yeah people get really confused over this although I really thought he'd get it when she made a flame that Aang stopped with the stone glove next to the wall, that was undoubtedly fire. I honestly don't know because it looked like fire to me first time a saw it as the shape and its physical behavior is very different. But it was funny how he mentioned Azula making full use of lightningbending in one of the few episodes she didn't use it once.

@@kaijingarou6526 Honestly I don't really understand how someone can think that Azula's flame is lightning, it doesn't look or behave at all like lightning. When she uses lightning, it's clearly lightning.
The dragon of the vest is Iroh.
"Are there metal benders?" 👀
It was only mentioned once so I'm not surprised you didn't remember but the dragon of the west is a title given to Iroh.

11:50 it's been mentioned by others in a previous episode as well, but it's not lightning. her fire is just so hot it's blue. Sometimes when she lights something on fire you can see it turning red when it cools down.

I really need to refresh the comments before I post about something that's already been mentioned a couple of times. But yeah, Azula uses lightning pretty infrequently, and it's always a big deal when she does.
Eagerly awaiting the Ba Sing Se story arc. It contains some of my favorite episodes.
Aang sprinting down the wall is one of my favourite parts of this show. This is Azula's first real L. The series just goes up and up and up from here. I don't know how far you are on patreon, but the rest of season 2 is crazy. Season 3, while it does have some.... less exciting episodes, is arguably the best season of the show. I'm not sure if they've mentioned who the Dragon of the West is yet, I feel like they have, but you'll know very, very soon. Edit: Actually, I think they have mentioned the Dragon of the West. I'm pretty sure Zhao mentioned it back in Season 1.

Is not spoiler, in first season when the earthbender soldiers captured Iroh in the hot springs, they called him the dragon of the west

5:59 I don't think it stopped, it just moves really slowly. 12:18 It looks like there's enough of a gap in between the drill and the wall there that is holding itself up.

"give me ten good man and some climbing spikes, I'll impregnante the b**ch"! I always thought Bronn would do well in the Fire Nation

Possibly, but Bronn is a sellsword. His allegiance goes to the highest bidder or whichever situation is less likely to get himself killed. In some cases, he would betray the Fire Nation as soon as he receives a better deal.
When I first watched the show I found the whole trope of incompetent generals with zero regard for the lives of their own people in this show rather unrealistic. But that was before Russia went to war in Ukraine. Unfortunately, it seems real life gets like this and worse.
