Sully knows that Netamyam is just trying to protect them, he just doesn't want him to put himself in trouble for his brother's actions(Foreshadowing his death when he went back to save Lo'ak after he ran off)

A Lot of people say that Jake didn’t appreciate his kids in the movie, but this shows otherwise. His conversation with Neteyam at the end proves, that although his kids got into trouble, he’s still proud of them for protecting their sister.

@@t-girl9643 look how he treats Kiri compared to loak it is absolutely ridiculous both felt like outcast but Jake only noticed and comforted kiri. He ignored loak who was feeling outcast. Also when loak almost died he ignored that and called him a disappointment nobody cared but neteyam

@@kimjackson906 i heard a theory, that Jake treats Loak less than his siblings, is because he sees himself in him. Including his human self. When he was reckless, stubborn and did not fit in. Jake wanted to leave that life behind, but his son resembles him so much he gets reminded of those days.

Im talking overall, people perceive him as a father constantly pushing his children (mostly his boys), yes its targeted a lot towards Lo’ak, but in the movie he has also yelled at Neteyam various times.

You can tell Jake was proud that his boys for beating the crap out of those boys for picking on Kiri lol. Jake taught Lo’ak and Neteyam well. He couldn’t fully express it sense they were guests in the clan. I bet inside he had a smile on his face and like “That’s my boys”

Exactly!! He said "go apologize", not because he was at fault, but because he's the chief's son. He added "do you understand" to stress it's political not because he's at fault. He's such a Dad😂

I love how he was still lowkey proud of them for sticking up for their sister since that’s exactly what he would do

That’s a father right there lol. Knew the consequences if peace wasn’t made but very proud that they stood up for their sister

The end is one of the funniest parts of the movie!

Love how the one that looks just like him also acts just like him, Jake Jr. He was proud, he just didn’t want them to think it’s okay to go picking fights, until he heard they were picking on his daughter and changed his mind a bit but didn’t say it.

Although Jake was hard on his kids u could tell how much he loved them. He was doing his duty which was to protect them and unfortunately it was the only way he knew how because he didn’t have a good human life, he was a good dad despite the flaws

Jake has to make him take responsibility in a mature way… but he knows Lo’ak did the right thing and he’s proud of him. He knows Nateyam won’t say anything, but he needed to know his boys where able to take care of each other and themselves.

I’m upset but not disappointed is the best parenting. They know what they did was wrong but can take pride in doing what was right in the moment

If he had said that while Lo’ak was within hearing distance I’m fully convinced Neteyam would’ve survived

When Loak says that they were bullying Kiri you can see, between his flailing tail and tense eyes, that he hates the fact that he's gonna have to send Loak to apologize. Its the right thing to do to maintain peace with the Clan, but he doesnt like it either. Jake has grown into a culturally respectful natvi father, and has to hold Loak to that standard. Its why he asks how the other guys looked. He wants to know if his boys did there job well, whoch they did, and he has to keep that grin jn check. Almost a silent "good job, im lroud of you, dont let them know that tho"

I think his families circumstance was incredibly high stress. Plus, they were walking on eggshells in their new home, and new chief and his wife. They knew they would likely bring problems to the people, so the kids fighting/disruptiveness wasn’t helping at all. Lo’ak seemed to have always caused trouble by the way Neytiri and Jake would scold him and such. And in the end, the war was always coming for Jake, and the kids could’ve died either way. Yeah, it’s not perfect; but no family is and Jake basically apologies to his son after. You gotta consider PTSD, shock, adrenaline, feeling displaced. All of that.

"he said what about Kiri?" "Ok I'm gonna yell at Lo'ak and then you're gonna tell me how hard you hit back"

Lo’ak is a troublemaker. Middle son and all that. But he’s also a stranger and guest to people who don’t really want him there.
