Getting past the price its a cool gadget for someone on the go... But personally I enjoy the interaction with my fish and corals it helps me calm the madness!

A great feeder that not only feeds a proportional amount of food but the cylinder makes sure the food is mixed well and drops down into the water column. The only draw back imo is the price point.

I think pump for saturating needs to stay on longer than feeder's stepper motor. Otherwise there will be a leftover food in the tube.

I would think you would want the water pump to run longer then the feed pump so the food that was dispensed in the end would hydrate well also.

Looks awesome but I wish it was controllable with an App for those of us that don't have an expensive tank automation controller.

Now I’m days amazon has a few nice WiFi controllable outlets that are pretty inexpensive and are easy to program with phone.

Definitely will pass, especially you will only use it like what 1-3 weeks a year when you are on vacation.

Just looking I see a number of issues: 1) It's massive. Two separate pieces, each the size of a regular auto feeder, and two separate power plugs. 2) It's not "smart" - in the sense that it has no controls, timers, electronics or programming and yet the price of this is WAY MORE than you pay for fully controllable, smart, wifi-enabled units. 3) Its all 3d printed and has very cheap basic components (cheap in cost not necessarily in quality of course) so the high price is pretty much due to small unit manufacturing - a large company doing the same design would charge a quarter of the price and probably include more features (see point 2) 4) The design itself has a few oddities - a) the clear acrylic facing piece with the round cut-out where the food comes out, is blocking the hole and causing food to catch and build-up in that area instead of falling in the tank. This is perfectly demonstrated in the video in test #3 where it distributed only 50% of the food in the test and the remainder is stuck to the device and ended up being distributed in the fourth and final test. We also saw a large chunk of food catch on this lip during the water test (if the feeding cycle had ended before that food was dispensed, it would have either hung there till the next cycle, gathering moisture and gunking up, or might have fallen into the water unit at a later time when the pump wasn't running, leaving it to slowly dissolve and disprse nitrates into the tank. Instead of doing a round cut-out this area should just not have any facing on it, or the facing should be cut-out more so it doesn't catch food. b) the stepper motor seemed to be moving very unevenly, you can see and hear it speed up and slow down randomly during rotation, making it harder to measure precisely. Combined with the above issue of food getting stuck to the unit, it would be imprecise for very small dosing. 5) would love more info on cleaning and maintaining? 3D printed parts have layer lines and seams all over which can collect material, so does this thing become impregnated with food particles during use? How does the pump and distribution unit in the water get cleaned? Does it need to run for a period after the food is dispensed to flush clean water through the pump? It's interesting, but I would really love to see a large manufacturer take on this design and do it properly, with integrated timing and controls, injection moulded plastic, a better design of the outlet, a more compact unit, a single integrated power supply and possibly a clear acrylic food dispersion tube so you can watch the food going through the pump and see inside that area. Best of all, the price for such a professionally designed and built unit would likely be a LOT lower than this. Cool, but not worth the money is my feeling

What worries me is humidity above the tank or in the sump caking up the reefroids.

I was worried about that too at first. But after years of testing on my super humid greenhouse reef tank, it just isn’t a problem. It gets really humid in there, probably 98%+ on some days, especially in the winter. The food chamber stays isolated enough, plus the mixing mechanism prevents caking. Sometimes a bit will accumulate on the tip of the auger, but even that falls off during the next feeding run.

Like the feeding tube/pump. Not sure if you could buy it separately but that’s pretty cool. I think it would be nice with a screen too because you would be able to feed and doesn’t look like fish could get through. As for the auto feeder itself I think it’s too big and clunky for my taste. The smaller the better

Two things I don't like: Too big, looks kind of ugly on your tank and it cost too much for what it does.

Overly expensive for no reason. Over-doing the most BASIC aspect to fish keeping....
