Let me get this straight... Lovely voice, capable of soft lyrical tones, can be heard above orchestra at loudest point... With clear open vowels, nice chest voice, and stunning high notes. All without nasality. Why is this woman not headlining all the main opera houses? Also, the Burgundy is a fantastic color choice!

Her wiki seems to show she's doing pretty well as of 2021. Opera in general isn't faring well due to the, IMHO, too extreme restrictions imposed by the government on public events, such as live opera.

Maybe because opera is so trashed the quality of the singing is of no importance. It’s all about some jumped up producer’s “concept” that’s promoted not artistry of the highest standard that we are hearing here with the incredible Latonia Moore.

As a singer myself i can answer that question very easily. How many black women do you see in main stream aria's from various opera's...? I'd be willing too bet not many. Yeah it's a damn, damn, shame. Because she deserves EVERY bit of what her white counterparts are getting.

I was at the Met a few yrs. back when she made her unscheduled debut as Aida for an indisposed Violetta Urmana. What I heard was as great an Aida as I've ever seen and that includes Price, Arroyo and Tebaldi.Hope to see her Butterfly in March.

I’m sure many people are tired of every Black soprano being referred to in some way with Leontyne Price. They are nothing alike, other than being sopranos.

I saw her in Aida at San Diego Opera this past April. Wonderful singer. A beautiful voice with an instantly recognizable sound. She could be heard clearly in the big ensembles.

OMG…I’ve never heard of her til now.

Vocally stunning....but she also conveys butterflys innocence, naivite, and dramatics

Latonia is fabulous!

She just finished a run as Cio Cio San with the San Diego Opera (April 2016). She was absolutely astounding. Her voice has gained even more color, and a deliciously plangent quality, in the years since this video was recorded. Such a unique, immediately identifiable voice is truly rare these days.

She has listened to Tebaldi’s recordings, and Renata would be very happy with what she took away, chiefly the idiomatic use of portamento, all but unknown among today’s singers of Italian opera. I’m surprised her teacher allowed it.

Era da lungo tempo non si ascoltava un timbro così ...Luminoso....e un dominio dei fiati di grande scuola con una dizione Italiana di tutto rispetto....cosa che mette le cantanti moderne in un agone culturale; dove queste professioniste approfondiscono... .il Senso di quello che dicono dando Pathos al personaggio e al Melos che le accompagna. Difetto che molte grandi del secolo scorso a volte affrontava no sul ghiaccio di una pronuncia...a volte rischiosa..sopratutto nei reictativi....ma questo per ogni Idioma credo ci voglia la giusta conoscenza fonetica...e oggi i mezzi a disposizione sono veramenti...tanti.Una bella sorpresa...speriamo vista la giovinezza ....faccia scelte oculate, e lungimirante...prenda ad esempio le sue colleghe di colore che hanno avuto carriere luminose e lunghissime.Levandosi a livello artistico vittorie a volte ...incredibili e storiche.
