Autumn Running Day 2017 - Transport Museum, Wythall

The annual Autumn Running Day gives visitors to the Transport Museum at Wythall a chance to ride on classic buses from the museum's own collection and also a few visiting vehicles.
At the 2017 event, the Birmingham buses took centre stage, with four buses in convoy heading out to The Baldwin Arms at Baldwins Lane in a celebration of the 29A route. Leading the procession was 1486 (GOE 486 - 1947 Daimler CVA6) - only back on the road a short while before the event; next in line was 1107 (CVP 207 - 1937 Daimler COG5) celebrating it's 80th birthday; this was followed by 2548 (JOJ 548 - 1950 Guy Arab IV) belonging to the 2548 Group; last was 2222 (JOJ 222 - Leyland PD2).
Also seen running were Midland Red S16 5545 (6545 HA from 1964), D9 5399 (BHA 399C from 1965) and S23 5956 (UHA 956H from 1969) and WMPTE Leyland Fleetline WDA 956 T from 1978; the double decker converted to single decker.
The event took place on 8th October 2017.

These Buses were such a treat' somewhere nice to rest your feet ' you knew the drivers n conductors were there to keep you safe' and look after you on the Bus journeys to work ' home ' school ' college ' nights out 'yeah Bus n Crew were there for you Buses today have lost there way no charm or warmth just pay go away

Why is it that wherever you have an event, such as 'Bus & Coach Wales', Midlands buses at Wythall or buses of the South West, some clown always turns up with a bloody Routemaster (or three) and yet when there is a London event there are just London buses there?
I always feel sorry for anyone with initials JOJ 'cos if you want a cherished registration you're gonna have to buy a bus!
