Just so everyone knows, that was NOT a Model T cutaway engine next to Frank.

And on the opposite to the Autoworld museum is the army museum with a collection from medieval armour and a great WW1 and WW2 exhibition. There is also the aviation museum with over 100 mostly military planes, the nature science museum which houses the largest collection of dinosaur skeletons in Europe and the museum of fine arts. All next to each other.

yep, just wanted to post that when I saw your comment. Also, autoworld is best visited during the Brussels autoshow in january, because it'll be cheaper and they usually bring out the best of their collection...which may surprise a lot of people.

@@V8interceptorChannel Yes they are open but you must book your visit in advance online and choose a time slot during the pandemic. No problem since there is no waiting list. Besides the regular exhibition they always have a theme exhibition. Until 30/5 it's station wagons and form 4/6 on it's 60 years Jag E type.

I have a formal complaint with your videos that I hope you can correct. There is not enough of them. 😂. I really enjoy these. You are very talented and thoroughly enjoy everyone.
A superb American sense of humor combined with an exotic Dutch accent = solid gold. I mean c'mon, your content is superior to 99 percent of the crap on network television. And if they gave you a show on CBS, automotive advertisers would be falling all over themselves trying to sponsor your show.
Ed is a Dutch version of Mr. Regular!
I recently moved to Belgium, and I had no idea this museum existed! Will be sure to visit it eventually. Thank you for the video!

Welp, Ed... You have the formula. Your narration is simply music to our ears. There are lots of videos about thrilling subjects (to me, at least) that just bomb after the first 30 seconds cause the voice is just either unpleasant or plain boring. I fell like you could talk about anything and we'd be interested... but it's a big plus you do on cars... Kudos bro...

Hi Ed’s Auto Reviews I really like your videos in earlier today we bought a 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 and also it runs well and it also feels good to be in the inside.
That was a funny and entertaining video. I could listen to Edward talk all day!
I visited this museum in 2018. It does have excellent circulated permanent collection and special exhibitions. The building it is in was originally for the World's Fair in the late 1800's.
Glad I found your channel you make me laugh!

I have been to this museum. It’s my favorite automobile museum of the 6 or so that I’ve visited. If I’m ever in Brussels again, I would revisit. I highly recommend.
just discovered you. You are going to make it big!!
The point you made about the EV is so important. The entire auto industry was held hostage by oil companies when most of the first cars were EV or other alternate and cleaner fuels than oil even then.
You are delightfully funny 😊 I have to subscribe now..stop it 😂
Great stuff Ed!
My best friend owned 2 Nomads. One white, one black. We spent many hours in the black one. He owned it until he passed away in his 59's.
Looks like a great museum! 👍🏻
I remember seeing that museum in 1997 and it had a very nice Bugatthi in the middle front looking superb. It seems that it is no longer there. And they had those Belgium made Minerve cars.
In answer to your question about the Desoto: no one can figure out Chrysler's 1950s marketing scheme for Desoto (and Plymouth) so it doesn't surprise me in the least that they exported a relatively unknown brand to Europe instead of familiar Plymouth. Desoto died a short time later due to Chrysler's lack of market niche for Desoto and overall public apathy toward the brand.

I had no idea about the Plymouth bodied DeSoto. Similar in scope to the Mercury pickup trucks sold in Canada in the 50's and 60's.

Same thing happened to Packard after Studebaker bought the brand.
Battery range may be similar, but the speed that the range is attained has certainly increased.
I was waiting for isetta. Idk why but I kinda love isetta. Even though I don't know much about cars. Anyway thanks for informing I love your videos.
Your wit is great.
Lovely museum... i have seen it a few times... when i was living in Belgium...
Hello. Dont' forget the Belgium electric car build by Camille Jenatzy in 1899, the "Jamais contente", 100 kp. This car is/was (?) present in Autoworld.
A friend of mine will soon move to brussels, o can barely await the time visiting someone will be an option sooner or later and than, i'll finally will visit brussels (a thing i wanted to do for a long time already)
Great video .
I was confused when I saw this in my YT suggestions. Because there used to be a theme park in Flint, Michigan in the US called AutoWorld, it was operated by Six Flag. Was only open for a decade from 1984 to 1994.
Mooie video Edward🤙
God I love this channel..
You nailed it on the electrics
I love the content
Thanks. Entertaining.
I absolutely adore your videos with the style and informativeness. Just let me guess your filming method: you walked into museum and with every curious car you were commenting while filming and then when you were editing the video already at home you muted the sound on the record and said everything that you mentioned earlier in the museum but this time into a microphone with noise cancellation and with high quality. Am I right? Anyway I am very excited to see more from you! Sincerely yours - automotive enthusiasts from Ukraine 👌
Your one cool dude Ed 😎
NIce man! Autocenter is the best
Very informative
2:48 It's a Kombi here in Brazil, and that it's a limited production model that ended the production of the Kombi, the T2.
Chrysler did the same in Australia with the Chrysler Valiant Charger . Thanks Ed.
Oooooh the VW Type 2, we call it Kombi here in brazil I have no idea how this thing was still ok to produce , its scary asf to be in the highway with it But we still love it , just we love like the beetle (i have one , white) and the brasilia , and variant (its basically a brasilia station wagon , yes the name is "variant")
I went there in December-January 2008. I miss Gent..
The history of the past is rather haunting to understand. Museums are often haunted. Although, certain people don't mind the gas fumes.
Love to hear your take on American Van culture. 2% Vanner
Go Ed Go!
This was nice
I've always found it odd and interesting how American manufactures sell cars under different names in various countries. The DeSoto/Plymouth example is just one of many. Growing up in the US near the Canadian border, I was confused when seeing cars with Canadian tags that had different names than their US versions. Canadian Pontiacs that resembled US Chevies. Monarchs that looked like Mercurys and Meteors that resembled Fords. Then there were car names that were strictly Canadian, such as Beaumont, Acadian, Frontenac, etc.
I feel like RCR is one of your influences based on this video
ed, please remember me when you get to the top please
#astonishing #growth #applause
2:38 it doestn have the original aircooled boxer flat 4, it was swapped from the factory with the awesome (brazilian) AP 1.6 inline 4 engine, that in latin american market it came out in a whole bunch of car from the 80 all the way up to the 2000`s , its wathercooled so that why it has the front grill with the radiator in the front . Cheers from argentina men! keep it up!
DeSoto is the long-forgotten fifth marque inside the Chrysler Corporation, slotted above Plymouth and Dodge, but below Chrysler and Imperial. (Mimicking GM's five?) It died in 1961. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeSoto_(automobile)
I'm no expert, so I'll say what I think. Back then electricity was used to drive the car, now on top of that you have 15 computers, smart windshield wipers, AC, power seats with ass massages,26" tv in the dashboard and a million other things that need electricity to run. And its all heavy.
Is it just me or did your channel just blow up?
There was development. Its just that there wasnt enough demand for the batteries amc needed for their car and it was too risky.
Why is there a rotary on the FINA gas pump emblem?
1:48 i can see my future here when i have a car
Chrysler has form for weird naming outside the US tho, look at Valiant Australia, based to begin with on the Plymouth Valiant, they dropped Plymouth and called Australian made cars Valiant until 1982.....
you missed the part where the detroit electric's top speed was 40kmh
Ep. 19 Low riders? Plzzzzzzzzzzz 😁

My dad has a 49 Plymouth if you change out the Chrome and small panel it can be turned into a Dodge Chrysler or DeSoto so that ear of Chrysler products AR kind of ridiculous
Where is this museum ?

I have never seen dusty cars in a Museum before.
1:16 most french thing ever
3:46 is it just me or is this.....a Lamborghini....
Who's the connaisseur you brought with you?
Maybe they decided to use Desoto precisely because Western Europe knew Plymouth?
Welcome to the limitations of battery capacity. It's not going to change all that much. Gasoline and Diesel is much more energy dense.
In the early days of the auto industry, electric Cars were selling far more than gas powered Cars. But through the political influence of men like Rockefeller, the gas powered system became standardized. Of cause this helped Rockefeller get richer from selling his petroleum products.
