I recall watching this video 8 years ago when I was 15 years old. Now I am a 737 pilot….crazy how I grew up dreaming on these videos!

Say what transparency on how they fly planes and use the auto pilot really? This has nothing to do with transparency it has to do with the fact of your curiosity more then anything

This is amazing!!.... so innovative of the KLM team to do this...... They have a new customer now... this makes us customer more connected to the whole process and not alienated :)

@@droidguy1571 I'm 17. And I'm going to WMU (Western Michigan University) to attend their aviation program; 1 of the top 3 best aviation programs in the United States. I was originally going for the 747 myself, but the airline that I want to work for (Delta Airlines) already retired all of their 747s. Now I'm checking into the 777x. I'm trying to aim for the 777x as we speak, if Delta gets one.

Wow! I've watched nearly every airplane video around, but NEVER seen this side of flying before. Wonderful glimpse. Thank you, KLM. :-)

+Chris Z. the aircraft onboard computer controls the aircrafts flight surfaces to stay central on the horizontal and vertical waves so to speak as opposed to the ILS taking control of the aircraft, the aircraft stays central to the ILS like a crosshair over a target

If you watch the full version the captain says they usually do Manual landings. I guess if your VP of flight operations you can use the autopilot to land. lol.

Great video. This is one of my favorite videos on youtube. My future wife and I had never flown before and these pilots were amazing. Very professional, organized, and passionate about safety. Love this video, gives your average flyer some information as to how much goes on in a cockpit. I was on a jet few years back that landed by auto pilot in zero visibility in New York Laguardia airport. It was pretty nerve wrecking, once jet landed, the pilot announced.. " You have just been landed by auto pilot".😳

I may not live in the Netherlands, but I sure do have a lot of passion for KLM. In fact, since I am currently training for my private pilot's license, I could get my commercial license then get a job with KLM. You must be able to speak dutch, and finish/attend your pilot education at the KLM flight academy (where knowing dutch is mandatory).

It doesn't matter to me that Autopilot goes so far as to land the plane via ILS, flying a plane is hard and needs to be done by the best of the best. All my experiences on KLM have been second-to-none; I hope I get to fly KLM again in the future soon. Great videos, thank you for them.
