Epilogue takes place in 1907 so you can have a Pierce Great Arrow style car instead if you want something a little more "modern". But yeah, dunno why they chose @ late 20's/early 30's style car... it'd be like modding a Hummer into Vice City.

The next red dead should take place in rural America in 1920, the very last year of the Wild West era theoretically, where Jack becomes a moonshiner who can ride both horses and cars and he struggles to keep doing his criminal life, or be what his parents wanted him to be and ditch the criminal life

@@connersmith2138 you are correct, but that's the purpose in the honor system. It is possible to live a successful life in the epilogue with no crime at all unlike in Grand Theft Auto. It's fun to try.

it just feels weird having a car in rdr2. There is no propper roads i would expect it to be on. Cool mod though

incrEDIBLY small nitpick: The headlights on a Ford Model A would be dimmer and have an orange hue to them. If that's something you can control it would definitely look the part. That aside this is absolutely incredible. Thank you for your effort.

How to install this mod?

A RDR 3 with Jack could definitely work. Just keep the cars in the cities and close surrounding areas. Meanwhile the rural areas and actual wilderness are still horse dominated. Sort of like how it was in real life in the 1910s. RDR 1 ends in 1914. America however doesn’t join ww1 until April 1917. So we have roughly 3 years to work with before America even gets involved in it. Or we could just ignore the war completely considering the entire conflict from start to finish was never once fought on American soil. So it’s really a non-issue to leave WW1 as something that’s only addressed in the newspapers and verbally mentioned by NPC at most.

Just about the limit of the stretch of the RDR lore. Maybe even into the 1920s. Then after, GTA lore would be more appropriate.

That’s what I’ve been advocating for too! The 1910s were still definitely horse dominated outside of big cities, and there was still lots of frontier in the West in even the South (like in Florida. Bunch of Crazy stuff was still happening, especially around the Mexico border and the recently annexed Indian Territory.

Wrong, The Ford Model T has existed publicly since 1902, so they definitely have a presence in RDR1

It’s odd the picked this instead of using the one from the first game though, the model A has a top speed of 60mph so downhill it should be going 100. That would be fun. Maybe next they can add a Porsche Dakar to tear up the dirt.

I like how Arthur still says insults and swear words when you run down someone with the car. Awesome mod. Hopefully they get a hang of its acceleration and handling as they're too sharp and responsive.

I now understand how people back in the day of early horseless carriages may have felt about these strange, newfangled machines. It's quite jarring, actually. I know in the last year or two, there were car mods but they were just reskinned wagons and the front wheels didn't steer. This is interesting.

I've never played RDR2, only seen gameplay of it in the past (only RDR1), but saw this on my feed. This mod is absolutely amazing! Coupled with the edits in the video, this mod shines really well and it's clear that a lot of effort has gone into it. As a modder myself, I can relate to how even something that might seem simple on the surface can take many hours (tens, or even hundreds) to properly get working in-game. Hats off to you, my man, and all the best for this mod's future development and updates (if any are planned)! P.S.: I have a soft spot for old cars, etc., so this was pleasant to watch. I watched the whole thing. Brill vid! 👍

As someone who had done rdr2 modding this seems really complex to me. I'm wondering how they did it, and the most logical thing I can think is that they took assets from rdr1 or gta somehow. I guess it's possible they wrote the car from scratch and scripted every part separately but I feel like that would have been janky if they did that

If rockstar were to make a remake of rdr1 with rdr2 graphics and put an updated version of the Rdr2 map into rdr1 to fit the 1911 timeline it would fire imagine Saint Denis in 1911 or 1915 and just seeing a bunch of cars in the roads instead of horses 🐎 in Saint Denis

@@Tejano12398I don’t think he was coming from Saint Denis. He was tasked with killing his old gang members which included more than Dutch, Javier, and Bill. My guess is they picked him and Abi, Jack up from Beecher’s Hope and told him to go after the “easy” targets first like Pearson and Tilly. After taking care of them they would’ve met back up at Sisika to regroup before going after the “harder” targets of Bill and Javier which is where the game takes off… it wouldn’t be much fun to murder a shop owner or a housewife and writer after all.

The Epilog takes place in 1907, and the first Ford Model T was produced in 1908, so something like this could have been fudged into the later parts of the game and still made sense.

GTA: Online progressed, updating as the years went by, keeping up with the current date. Imagine that, but with RDR2 where every year, we inch closer to 1900.

2:10 I am not completely sure on this exact model, but a similar one; the Original Gen Model T was absolutely phenomenal off road. it was great in the snow, could ford rivers, and really didn't have enough power, engine & breaks, to make someone say "well why doesn't it spin out", although I see why you did it, it was because with such an OP form of transportation in such a game, you need SOME sort of challenge...

The lack of cars really bugged me when I played the epilogue. There should've been at least a few. The trains are so much worse though. What they use for 1899 is already like two decades out of date, so by the epilogue they just look ridiculous. I'm really sad no one has made a mod to fix it.

The top speed of the car ingame is lower than in reality as on a flat road you can easily hit 50mph instead of being capped to around 40. The top speed is around 60 mph without overdrive and with overdrive it could theoretically reach higher speeds (about 70-80 mph downhill with ideal road and weather conditions.). The car the mod is based off is Ford Model A which was produced from 1927-31.

I think this is something similar with Max Payne 3, as in when you add drivable vehicle the player character doesn't have proper anims to show they driving even tho the engine registers it and lets you drive the vehicle. Luckily, RDR2 had these animations that or the game's file structure advanced a bit that it's really easy to port over animations from GTA V and have them work without patches. Still, i am sure drive-by mechanics are in RDR2 since the next gta is definetly built ontop of RDR2's RAGE engine improvements so they left those things in the code, just unused.

Very impressive mod indeed… can’t wait to see what this evolved to in the future since it’s so well thought of as is from the looks of things thus far. Also, how does it fair in story mode? I’d expect glitches/bugs as per usual but is there any game breaking ones we ought to be made aware of? This aspect is always sketch with mods and rarely put in prominently in the ver log hence why I ask. Def gonna try this asap since I’m very curious if it natively supports kb remaps, vol/speed/luminosity adjustment(s) are baked all in. I’m assuming current mods will still work and could make this this car mod lighting fast with use of such speed mods right? Huge thnx team! Excellent work! Hope Rock⭐️ is paying attention and give you lot some perk for doing them a solid contribution to one of their epic titles. I’m gonna try to spawn crazy things on this thing and see if it moves afterwards ha 😂 aka will it tow a war ships, rains and junk 🚢 🚂 lol Give it a bit of wings and speed mod the heck out of it and it ought to fly as usual. Can’t wait to see the crazy YT content that comes of the many possibilities of this mod 😀

I mean script mods are external so it should prob function well with story mode, for .meta file overrides (assumption, but i highly think RDR2 uses .meta file structure similar to GTA V) it can cause bugs/glitches with story mode, especially this car mod as the headlights give me the vibe that this is indeed added trough in-game native files, thus might break some other gameplay elements that rely on it.

Rdr3 should be set in 1887-1899 and we can play as dutch Until Jan 1899! RDR3 should also have 91 Missions! The last mission aka the 91st should be The May 1899 Blackwater Massacre, and the map should be as far east as Chicago or Carcer City, and the most western point should be McFarlane's Ranch!

If you add more colors, please add an all black one next.
