Das EU Horizon 2020 Projekt "AWARD" (All Weather Autonomous Real logistics operations and Demonstrations) untersucht wie automatisierte Transportfahrzeuge den Güterverkehr in Europa bei jedem Wetter bewältigen und die Verkehrssituation nachhaltig verbessern können - sei es auf Straßen, an Flughäfen oder in Häfen. Das AIT Austrian Institute of Technology trägt als Partner bei AWARD maßgeblich zur Entwicklung sicherer, automatisierter Transportsysteme bei.
Im Large-Scale Robotics Lab, dem AIT eigenen Outdoor-Testgelände für Arbeitsmaschinen in Seibersdorf, demonstriert der fahrerlos agierende Gabelstapler die automatisierte Be- und Entladung eines LKWs mit Paletten von und zu einer Ladezone.
Das Projekt AWARD wurde durch das Forschungs- und Innovationsprogramm Horizont 2020 der Europäischen Union unter der Fördervereinbarung Nr. 101006817 gefördert.

The EU Horizon 2020 Project "AWARD" (All Weather Autonomous Real logistics operations and Demonstrations) is exploring how automated transport vehicles can handle freight traffic in Europe under all weather conditions, aiming to sustainably improve the traffic situation on roads, at airports, and in ports. As a partner in the AWARD project, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is significantly contributing to the development of safe automated transport systems.
At the Large-Scale Robotics Lab, AIT's dedicated outdoor test area for work machines in Seibersdorf, the driverless forklift demonstrates the automated loading and unloading of pallets from a truck into and out of a loading zone.
