These things can also be used for turning off natural gas valves. You can use arduino gas sensors to activate them. Everyone using propane/natural gas should install them. I have a natural gas well and have used it for everything in my house for almost 20 years but I use a linear actuator. This should work ok too.

Why not have a remote control like to turn it closed or open with the push of either button?
