Nice compilation. Already started to search for parts to build one.. And I do not even own a PCP yet!😂😂 Thinking of just a motor and an arm just to keep it simple as possible. Got a geared 3-phase motor for it already. Ran okay - but not yet sure if it felt still a wee bit high on speed.. Been thinking of testing it using a frequency converter also for selectable speed. Striving just for an as compact design as possible..

@@marvinstarrjr3969 It do is quite exciting to build up stuff. I eventually did get my hand pump machine built. Surely took a motor and a few gearbox changes during the process, but it was pretty fun to design and build it. Finally even got my first PCP a few weeks ago (Sig Virtus). The pump machine itself done well - but I do have opened up and cleaned the chinese hand pump itself a couple of times for it to work properly. The one-way valve at the bottom of the pump been clogged with some internal residue those couple times.

Any reason not to scale up the size of the PCP pump for high torque motor?

Ever trying of not passing over 30 strokes per minute, this way you avoid overheating of pump.

Nice examples but it no longer becomes portable and you can also buy a 4500 PSI compressor that is portable prices come down a lot over the years and they can still take out in the field with you.

What if you could bring the dive shop home and fill your tanks in your garage? That said, a lot of these are overly complicated and expensive.1:08 is really the only one that makes any sense to me (except motor is probably overkill). An appropriate motor wouldn't cost that much, then you just need to build the jig around it. Result is a compressor with 100% re-sourceable parts (as opposed to a complete offering that may be difficult to find parts for) that is cheap and easy to work on if needed. And now you can fill whatever it is you want to fill (tank, gun, etc) at home.

@@whereswilly6780 Here is a video of a guy that mentioned what he was using, not really a whole lot of useful info but he says he used a 1/4 horsepower motor. Important is to match the power and speed of rotation. If you get a smaller motor, you'll probably need it to spin slower. These gearmotors are usually rated with power and RPM, the guy in this video looked like he had maybe a 60rpm motor. If you want to pump faster (say 90rpm), youll need more power.

@@whereswilly6780 well, 1/4hp is ~186W (thanks google hah), so sounds like you could probably go faster if you wanted, although I'm not sure by how much. You might not want to go faster though, these pumps are designed to pump at hand speed, so going much over that speed will probably incur heat issues, maybe burn up some o-rings or something. But as I said before, easy to replace parts if something goes wrong!
