I also noted that you have the door installed backwards from what the link shows on amazon. That is not a problem for me. In fact, it makes using this door a possibility for me. How is the door doing in this configuration? Has it survived the elements?

I did install this one backwards on purpose. My coop door is a square cutout and for this particular automatic door I would need to modify my coop This door works fine with the roll inside the coop or outside...no issues

I have a couple questions for you about this unit. Are those batteries included? Does the solar panel recharge those batteries or does it just operate the door.

The batteries were not included. These batteries are for the controller and time display. The solar panel does have an internal rechargeable battery that operates the door.

sounds like a defective door. I'd return it as well

I bought this door and it doesn't work. The booklet doesn't have any info to contact the company. Made in china! 😢

You have to charge inside first and add batteries. Once it's fully charged it should work. If it's not make sure you have it connected correctly and let me know if you get it going
