AutoFab 5" Lift Kit install on a GREAT 1974 Ford F100!
Today we're getting our truck on, a customer of ours brought us a gorgeous example of a 1974 Ford F100 Ranger, as well as an AutoFab 5 inch lift kit for the truck. With the twin I beam front suspension setup we aren't dealing with the best designed suspension geometry in the world but it works, and it extremely tough.
This is a reasonably straight forward Lift kit install however we do run into a couple unexpected snags, largely due to a lack of available instructions. Once we get THAT sorted out we're back together and good to go. There are a few more issues to button up before she's ready to go home but we're getting there!

Yeah somebody took care of that truck...put a lot of gas in those...FE engine with galvanized steel engine compartment....good content and thanks...🔧🔧👍

Yah, probably never seen any salt and garage kept. I don’t remember if they told us the mileage or not but I bet it’s low.
That is a very nice truck. I know the owner will be happy when it is done!

You can cut an x in them if you like grinding or have a weak air hammer. Cheers!

I had a 79, lifted the front 1 1/2 inches to make it ride level. Took a course at a trade school to learn about correcting the I -beams for geometry and we bent them as well. After I installed a healthy 460 and C6, I needed the extra lift, came with a 302 and 3 speed
Why lift a 2wd? I could see if he was adding a transfer case and front axle but...?

Loved it the way it was.
Before I went into the service came really close to buying a 1974 F-250 4x4 High boy, a great truck. Wish I would have bought it, probably still have it. Was a 390 4v with manual transmission with granny low. Had a blue and white 1988 F-150 Lariat long bed straight six.
Always enjoy the videos. Me personally, I don’t understand lifting a 2 wheel drive truck but to each their own, I think it would be a really cool 4 wheel drive swap. Love the body style of that truck, it will look cool, just not 4WD.

It sucks not having good directions with some of these kits .. been there myself in the shop .. makes you sit back an scratch your head !

@@dougwelch4137 I'll snap a pick of the directions with this kit on the next installment. They give the basics. It's a good kit and we are very happy with it. After we get the back side leveled up it will really start to look good
