Fun fact: you can get this for free and for as long as you are studying an eligible institute, i dont know which are they and what are the rules. You enter a few details, post a photo of some document proving you study there, and boom, you've got most of autodesk for free. And i absolutely love it, and suggest you ask some of your teachers if your school is eligible for autodesk's student program.

This is only a brief explanation on the user interface. Drawing realistic objects wiht dimensions, line styles , scales, viewports ask at least 10 hours of intensive education and hard work. Autocad is a very complete software, especially for 2D drawing maybe the best.

hello need your help, when I hover over tools it doesnt show any info like name of the tools there a way to turn this on pls

how to fix this problem, everytime i change units from inches to mm the dynamic input still remain in inches even though the unit settings is already in mm

This AutoCAD version, how can I convert an object to a device? In other autodcad versions that is easily achieved by righ clicking and choosing "convert to" then "device".. this 2024 version has none of that. Neither can I access ACEC modify tools

@@michaelsrowland each time u create a new drawing you have to set the units by opening units options, just type "un"

Mine looks nothing like this, the Ribbon is on the left hand side. Some of the visualization tools are at the top. How do I switch it to the view in the video which seems to be the common view?

I'm going mad trying to figure out the exact same thing, I don't have the menu bar across the top, the ribbon with all the tools is on the left etc etc...All videos show the general autocad setup as per this video, did you ever work this out?

It is better if you use the metric scale, the standard one. If you want to use Inches, you can change the UNITS as explained in the video.

You can use the orthogonal (Ortho) tool in the bottom right to lock lines to the x or y axis, then draw a line with two points and specify the length.

im losing my mind here. how do i zoom in autocad with 2 finger dragging on a macbook trackpad. i used to be able to do it and now its not working. i can only use the zoom with the pinch motion or with mouse scrolling. please, someone help me with this.
