For this Auto Reverse episode, we cover the 15 volume series RAPMASTERS, a budget-conscious set of releases from 1989-1990. While not a mixtape, per se, RAPMASTERS provided a crucial piece of history for young millennial rap fans who wanted to know more about the roots.

    I remember having The Best of Laughs vol as a kiddo. Specifically “Roaches” by Bobby Jimmy and the Critters. I didn’t know it was a flip of “Rumors” at the time. I just thought it was a funny song about bugs, haha.
