I have a grand marquis, so is there should be an indication light showing it's working or not?

Hey man is the passenger side mirror auto dims to? Bought a use t&c i dont know if its broken or not. Only thing that dims is the driver side and rear view. And how bout the side mirror when backing up only left side mirror going down is that normal? to?

This is a GNTX-461. This mirror comes in a lot of different cars, from Toyotas, Fords, to McLarens. There are different variations of the 461. There’s some that don’t even have a button or green light, like this one. There’s some that have the off / on button and light. And there’s some with a compass and thermostat built in! The car manufacturers tell the mirror companies what they want, and don’t want in their cars.

I replaced my roof wire harness cause it was cut somewhere, after that my mirror never work again. The power comes to the wire but it doesn’t power the mirror. I tested another mirror that also doesn’t light up the little led green light on the mirror

So i’m guessing this model mirrors doesn’t have any ON/Green light ?

No, just the sensor to take in high beams from behind you to dim the mirror. I saw some with a power button too!

This is actually my 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, it has the auto dim rearview mirror standard. Actually every car I have, even my prius and Lincoln LS has this. Super useful feature, you cant live without it once you have a car with this. Thanks for watching!!!

I will try with my hand, but driving home at night the mirror does not dim.

I’ve driven 6 different vehicles with these automatic dimming mirrors and none of them have ever worked. 6 different drivers in my family have all come to the same conclusion. I’ve tried the demonstration that you show in the video and I’ve never ever noticed any change in the mirror. It is so frustrating to be driving at night and because these minors don’t work, I am continually blinded by the headlights of the cars behind me. I would much rather have a manual dimming mirror and simply flip the lever to dim the mirror. My current thinking is that this feature is similar to claiming that one of the available options on the car allows the car to float over heavy traffic. Of course a floating car is fiction. As is an automatic dimming mirror.

Mine on my 2011 Ford fusion hybrid rear mirror had auto dimming, but last night I was noticing that lights from behind me were not dimmed anymore! I know it worked at one time, but now I need to know how to check the power to it,because at one time the dealer was trying to fix my rain sensing wipers and they couldn't get that right. The power connector to the mirror must have loosened and lost the function now with maybe a hard bump. The car is 12 years old!

mine on my 2011 mazda 3.. its stops dimming since i changed the alternator.. so frustrating..
