So true! Autism has been my superpower. I had such obsessive focus, I was able to build an $8mm company, solo, in a relatively short time. For better or for worse, certain capabilities are enhanced. One-pointed focus can definitely be enhanced.

I didn’t find out until adulthood that I am autistic. My whole life was “why can’t you just act normal” and after my attempt on my own life I went to counseling and that’s when I was diagnosed at 27 years old. That’s when I turned to the gym and weight lifting and I’ve been making small improvements since then.

I really thank you for this video!❤️ I am not sure what Tom diagnosis is. If he is fully autistic or on some spectrum. But many people hasn't diagnosis yet and symptoms look that they can have it including me. If I can share my own inner experience and I guess that I have Asperger syndrome. So we autistic people have great focus on stuff which we like. We are fully absorbed into some topics or fields in life and we are extremely going deep into subject which we like. But it's paid by ability to create and hold relationships. I haven't for example attachment to people how I should have. I wish to have friends, but in fact we don't know what to speak with people because our interests are more specific and no in common conversations. Including we lack of sense for understanding social rules of conversations and relationships. I don't recognise if someone loves me or no or if someone flirt with me or no, if person isn't telling me straight into my eyes. I just know how to behave only because I read as teenager multiple books about psychology and human behavior. But people can perceive sometimes people with autism as people without empathy or only self focused. But in fact there is issue in us to understand self and own feelings including communicate them out. But we are very rich about inner feelings. Me personally feel extremely overhelmed if I love someone that I am freezed in person presence and not know what to do. And then some rites and changes make us anxious. We are very vulnerable towards others people vibes, we bond easier to objects, activities and things, because people look no transparent to us and difficult. Because autistic people haven't different intentions than they do actions etc. High moral standards...we don't understand jokes, body language, irony and reading between lines. And sometimes we overshare about self without thinking about it. And in my experience most dominant thing is listening one same song again again 3 days nonstop without having issue if I love this song. That's something very irritating others people. But we can't live without such things. And next thing is...that some autistic people can be dumb for stuff or topics which they don't like. For me it's math. But genius in others topics or fields which we love. For me genetics of rats and their biology. My IQ is 140 but if I will do IQ test for math, so I will be lower than average. Maybe someone else can recognise self in this.❤️🙏🏻

I was diagnosed last year at the age of 51. For me life has been a rollercoaster but I have a loving and supportive family. I knew at a young age I needed routine so went into the Cadets then the T.A reserves finding that I function well under extreme stress. I have nothing but respect for Tom for sharing his journey. Bless ya.

I'm autistic myself and I feel quite blessed , most neurotypical people takes years to perfect at something or to become a higher level tradesman but for me , everything that I put my mind into becomes extremely ease and I tend to think that everybody else has the same thought process and when I try to explain thingsand I get super technical and they don't understand I get super shocked that we're not on the same level , I just found out that I was autistic after my third boy was born and they're all autistic, so it's safe to say that it's a genetic trait
