Many thanks!!! 🙏🏼 I think Autel is beginning to assess their competition and has started offering multi-year free licensing, however the cadence of it is not clear. Don't know if it's part of a flash sale or something.

Totally agree that Autel needs to rethink their subscription fees, but as you've seen, you can get upto 50% off if you time it right

Thanks a lot! The better test uses an Autel accessory (MaxiBAS BT506) to test the state of health and charge of a car battery. I have had the chance to use OEM authorization, but I have a feeling its to do with FCA cars. I'll find revert once I find out more.

It works with all Autel scanners that require an annual subscription

What happens when you miss a year or two of updates? Can you still update the scanner or do you need to pay for previous updates as well?

No need to pay for missed years. You will have access to all years missed.

Hi mate. I bought a autel Ms908s without data. I thin that the former owner erased everything. Can you let me know if there is any possibility of me recovering the deleted date? Or if I find someone with a data backup for me to use? Thank you

Hey. You bought it used? You have to get the Autel ID and password from the former owner. If not you can't even get a subscription to download data. I haven't tried using someone else's backup and so can't advise.

is the the updates necessary or its ok to not update and i can use the tool freely without restriction?

The tool can be used without updates generally. However, you won't be able to run some tasks for above 2017 FCA cars. I covered what to expect when you subscription expires in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/fpae162pYdW_iKQ.html Updates fix bugs and add new functionality and coverage for newer cars. Very important if you don't plan on renewing your subscription is to learn how to backup the tool. I also have a video on that. It can save you if your tool becomes corrupt.

Works on Otofix d1 pro too?

Very ridiculous. Even for a mechanic using it daily, it doesn't make sense that a license should cost over half the price of a tool!

DO NOT buy from JB Tools! Never received shipment, will not provide serial number and is no help.

I don't know if it's possible to change an Autel ID, you'd need to write Autel support.
