Hey Eve, I’m trying to apply for selective to transfer to year 11. I am pretty disappointed that I got a B for English, but got straight As in the rest of the subjects. What should I do??? 😢

Hello! Friendly Melbourne High School (Victorian Selective School) Yr 12 student here. I'm assuming that you were unsuccessful in securing a place? Don't be too sad, the competition was pretty intense here in Melbourne and I'm sure it was even more intense in Sydney. My advice is: keep those habits and techniques that you developed while preparing for selective entry, and use those in HSC. Trust me when I say that developing a good study mindset and habits is crucial in your last years of high school. Also, getting into a selective school will not drastically change your school experience (other than being able to flex on your friends XD). You can do just as well at any ordinary high school as you would being at James Ruse or any selective high school. Effort and perseverance is what will get you those top marks! @@jozef9265 tyty. I'm just more dissappointed that I was 10th reserve for Girraween, which ended up 1st reserve in the end, but we just have to learn to move on and perseverse through the rest of the school years. HSC IS COMING D:
