When you eat a meat pie you must do it the aussie way by holding In your hands and take bites out of pie without using cutlery

as an Aussie those pie names are confusing pies are named by flavour and are minced beef unless otherwise stated eg steak, chicken, crocodile, camel, kangaroo etc common pies you'll find at most bakeries are. plain, cheese, cheese and bacon, curry, chicken, pepper steak, tomato and onion, pea, vege.

meat pies and sausage rolls are one food item America has been neglectful in embracing. * also a white top was a bold choice when trying meat pies for the first time. especially when cutting them in 1/2 first

@@xenachannel7914 Same religious belief as the Balinese have wearing the red, white and black wrist band. Get your boyfriend to take you there. Bali is like a second home to Aussies (similar to Cabo for you guys in the States). Cheers. 😀🤙

There is nothing like a fresh hot pie from a good bakery. I am one of those Aussies who own my own electric pie making appliance. Well actually, I have around five different size pie making appliances and a sausage roll making appliance. The beauty of these machines is that you can use just about anything as a shell, including pastry, bread, wraps, paratha, whatever and take leftovers and use as fillings in your pies. I also make cakes, pancakes, crumpets, muffins, taco boats, quiche, poached egg …. whatever … in minutes. Sizes and quantity cooked in each appliance vary from a family size (x1) to the size you ate (1x2, 1x4, 1x6) to a smaller party nibble size (1x8). There are many cook books specifically aimed at the home cook who own these appliances. The appliances cost around AU$29. Some bakeries can sell pies with up to 20 different filling including savoury, sweet and a variety of pie size quiches, sausage rolls and because of Australia’s diverse cultures, spanakopita, borek, Asian etc fillings. We also eat a lot of other foods too like American hamburgers, hot dogs, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, you name it our food courts have everything including my favourite, Indian food.

None of those pies are typically Australian. Also here in Australia they are served in a small paper bag. You wouldn't see them served in a box. Each item is bagged individually.

Brekkie pie should be beef, onion gravy, egg. Bacon is recommended but is technically optional, although to me it's not really a brekkie pie without bacon and eggs. Cheese is optional too. Everyone has their own take on it. Some even include tomato, like the fried tomato thing with a continental breakfast. Spinach? Not so much. Don't get me wrong spinach and ricotta is definitely a thing, delicious too, but it wouldn't be an Aussie brekkie pie thing. Bit of artistic licence to make some vegetarian options. Spinach and Ricotta Sausage Rolls are most definitely a thing and not in any way lesser than a beef pie. Beef and Mushroom pie? Definitely. Mushroom pie adding cheese? Not by an means normal by Aussie standards but extra cheese is always good. You need TOMATO SAUCE which is different to Ketchup although quite similar. Not as thick, maybe a little bit sweeter. Ketchup is an acceptable alternative, but not truly authentic. "Alex" is not a thing although Beef and Onion is. What you've got there is a local adaptation. I'm sure it tastes good but you would never get such a thing in Australia. So far that's 0/3 for being Aussie. Jason? Beef and Veggies? Not really a thing here either. We don't put garden veggies in a pie, although we do in pasties, which we have to honestly give credit to the Cornish for (a region in Britain). Curry Chicken pie with peas? Yeah nah, not a thing. 0/5 so far. We do chicken curry pies but the peas are not a thing. More likely either with more veg or with a thai style curry. Pork Sausage roll? So far the closest to an Aussie thing. Mostly our sausage rolls are beef, some are beef and pork. Pure pork is very rare but not unheard of. Sadly the pastry looks massively undercooked. It's kind of the same size as your burritos. Cherry drinks are not an Aussie thing at all. Full stop. That's 0/7. What you've got here is an Australian themed restaurant that is not close to Australian food, but might be a good beginner step. Like Outback Jacks, really.

Completely agree with what you said mate! It's just an American attempt at being Aussie. Also, they need to serve them in paper bags like we do. Not in boxes.

Lol it's slightly differed but they look like decent pies. You sound like a gatekeeping knob. Shit, most upper market and artisanal bakeries offer things way more out there than these variations.

Completely disagree with this… the names don’t change what’s in the pie you wanker. The pies are authentic come and try them. And for the sausage rolls it’s a mix of veal pork and beef you don’t know what you’re talking about come and try it before you talk shit.

That sausage roll is too fat and not flaky enough, looks well undercooked. They are also selling both of them in the wrong type of packaging. You need to hold it in the brown or white, plain paper bag it comes in, to catch any pastry that breaks off. Better not to cut them at all. You start at one side, keep holding it at an angle, so the filling stays inside until you get to the back. The curry one was too runny, for aussie standards. Your countrymen have changed the flavours, so for a real aussie pie experience, you will need to come to oz. A beef pie does not come with the tom sauce baked in, you add it, it has worcestershire sauce in it. Try looking up an aussie shop, for a catalogue of specials, like Woolies or Coles, the freezer meals section will likely have a good pic, we can get a variety of party size pies and sausage rolls, and full size ones as well, from any supermarket. I'm not saying it never happens, but that spinach pie I have never seen here. All the best.

So much for keeping the Aussie pie cooking method an exclusive to Australia shame on the owner of that kitchen
